Hello eveyone, I'm new here. I'm Isla and I'm from Hampshire in the UK and I've been thinking about trying out the raw diet for a while now. I've been veggie for 12 years and vegan for maybe 18 months, I can't really remember!

I'm just starting to look into the raw diet and learn as much as I can about it befor I decied if it is for me or not :)

Hey Welcome!

Why wouldn't it be for you? You can have everything from Pizza to Calzones to "pasta" to brownies to cookies to cakes to shakes and all in between!

It's how we humans were meant to eat.

You should get Alissa's book and DVDs.

Hi Ilsa!! I am new here to and just starting the process. I am really finding Alyssa's book invaluable as a resource. Sometimes all the info gets a bit overwhelming. It's nice to have a guide.

Wishing you luck on this new adventure!

The best way to find out what the raw and living food lifestyle is all about, is to read Alissa's book and watch her DVD....not one or the other, BOTH! Even if you don't think it's for you, you'll go away wanting to eat more fruits and vegetables AND you'll learn so much about nutrition. Can't say enough good about Alissa's book and DVD. It's great to have you here.

Welcome, Isla.

I made a similar transition myself lately, having been vegetarian since 2001 and slowly gravitating toward more healthful food choices.

I have to say that I have found it actually pretty easy to stay 100% raw, although I did have a one-month attempt when I first got into it. Then I ate cooked foods again for a while, but now I've made the decision to stick with it.

There are some definite costs (blender, dehydrator, etc) and you have to spend some time getting organized at the beginning, but after you've done all that then it's really satisfying and a fun hobby too.

It's wonderful that you've found this forum. We're here to answer your questions...and help inspire you!
