I pulled my shoulder and neck muscles and for four days it is very painful and is not getting much better yet. People told me it will hurt like this for two weeks. I don't want to use advil for that long. Anything out there natural, but as strong?
Ice alone doesn't help me enough to be able to sleep.:(

Since I started taking omega 3 supplements I have had no menstrual cramps. I have heard that omega 3's act like natural anti-inflammatories and I believe it. It took about 6 months to notice and affect. I no longer take any Motrin 2 days a month.

I just re-read your message and see its an acute thing you are trying to help not a chronic condition. Sorry my advice will not help you but I'll leave it here for others!

I don't know what you can eat or take but I do know that alternating ice with warm should help ease the pain. You could make yourself a nice heat pack - mine is filled with rice (had to find a use for it) and lavendar (for the relaxing aspect). Heat it up and put it on the muscles. I do this for my husband as he has sore muscles often from his line of work.

I agree with omega 3. Pumkin oil, flaxseed or hempseed oil has been great for me. I couldn't use anything when i chip my shoulder, tare my muscle and tendon in my shoulder. I was in agony but made it without any pain killer. I had no choice because i was nursing and i didn't want to stop. Cold and Hold to bring the blood flow. Any little movement you can do such finger whatever to bring the blood there, will help.
If you know anyone that do Reiki or healing energy, it works wonderful as a pain killer.
Hope you feel well soon!

Cold packs will keep inflammation down, heat won't help inflammation
also, if you know a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist in the area, try asking if they have a TENs Unit. Some doctors can sell them to you, or your insurance might cover it. It acts like a pain killer in the fact that it scrambles the pain messages to your brain, except that unlike a pain killer, it won't slowly kill you. ;)

I use one personally, except now it's broken because my animals chewed through one of the wires. But (before breaking) it worked great!!

Snoops, I don't know that your advice was so far off! I mean anti-inflammatory would help anyway, no?

But it took 6 months of daily use for the effect to start! I think the OP was looking for some immediate advise!!

I did something to my neck & shoulder a few weeks ago..couldn't turn my head or raise my shoulder without intense hurting. First of all, I pray a lot, used one of the rice things that you heat up often, hot shower to that area & I gently dry brushed it as much as I could...dd would do it for me. I couldn't lift my arm or turn my head to do it. I slept sitting up with the rice thing around my neck...heated it up as hot as I could take it then left it there over night. It seemed like the rice pellets may have massage the area during the night. It was healed in 2-3 days.

Thank you all! So I got massage from my friend(she is proffesional massage therapist), got this Tiger ointment(very smelly, but works), and I bought turmeric, but I didn't drink it yet, because I am waterfasting today. All this seems to be working- hurts, but standable.
Raw Angel Mom, that must have been so hard to nurse and be in so much pain.
