Getting IUD whilst fasting?

Hi all,
I'm on day 8 of a juice fast, attempting to clear out my eczema.

I'm not sure how long I'll go (trying to really rid this eczema!), but I really would like to get an IUD (copper) soon. Do you think that the cleansing/fasting cycle going on with the fast would make the insertion unsuccessful or more painful?

I know this is sort of an esoteric question, but has anyone had experience with this? Thanks!

Well, I don't know exactly how the fasting would affect things, but I've gotten an IUD before and it was fairly painful. I had cramping and nausea for a few days - the first day was pretty intolerable. So . . . I can say, personally, that I would need some tasty comfort foods available were I to do it again. But again, that's how I deal with stuff ;) Oh! And I wasn't raw, just a junk food vegan at the time.

Thanks Sara! Yeah, I'm thinking I would need some fudge balls and chips on hand, to be sure! It seems like I won't be getting it that soon anyway---it's $800 bucks without insurance! Not after I just dropped $500 on a Vitamix! Eek.
