I bought one of those grocery-store check-out-aisle magazines that showcases the latest weight-loss article! <g> Well, I was intrigued by something. I'm not interested so much in losing weight because as we raw-fooders know, fix the dietary problems and the weight-loss happens naturally. I'm concerned with my extra weight for health reasons (toxins / burden on body functions, etc.) but I bought this article because one of the ideas in it sounded really good to me. One of the things recommended was to drink lots and lots of water but to add fiber powder to it. Now I definitely will not be going out to buy Metamucil or whatever it's called, but I thought, what a fabulous idea.

Things like ground up sesame seeds is about all that comes to mind but my first reaction is ... yech! Does anyone already do something like this? Perhaps some finely ground sesame seeds and some agave nectar??

What does anyone think. Anything to have on the road and at hand to avoid eating bad food is a good thing, I believe! <g> And only recently did I fix my problem with all sugars (finally found way to tackle my severe anemia and, lo and behold, I've stopped have sugar problems!!)

That article sounds like a band aid solution for SAD eaters to get their fiber as there is no fiber at all in animal products. On a raw diet you don't need supplemental fiber because it's in every whole plant based food you eat. If you still really want fiber water you can mix psyllium husks with water, but whole plant foods are already fiber and water so you don't need to take fiber as a supplement.

What Raweater said.

Carry along apples, bananas, celery, cabbage... any whole, raw fruit or veggie contains fiber.

chiming in with raweater's and Revell's good input here - chia seeds rock in green smoothies. They really DO make a difference along with all the plant foods, at least in my experience.
Do the raw, and lots of stuff will take care of itself...
