Well, this is the day I've been looking forward to. Today is the beginning of my new eating life style. I am starting with an eleven day juice fast and then going right into the 30 day raw food challenge for October. Wish me good luck and good eating.

I'm very excited to get started. I went to the Farmer's Market yesterday morning and found all sorts of stuff for fasting, but also for the raw food portion of my diet. I can't wait to begin that because I'm excited about all of the new flavors.

Today, I'm mainly sticking to organic fruits, perhaps a bit of celery juice mixed with other fruits for dinner.

I hope you all don't mind me journaling my days on this thread. If so, I'll be happy to just journal on my blog. Today has started out very well. I had apple and strawberry juice for breakfast mixed with water. It hit the spot because I was very hungry.

fasting threads REALLY assist me to fast... so post away dara!!!

have you tried green apple/parsley with a touch of ginger? it's soooo yummy. so is watermelon with a few strawberries juiced in. although i think i love watermelon with a hint of lime best.

are you going to be adding in any greens? if you don't, remember that you can (if you choose) add in some spirulina to your pineapple juice. it tastes wonderful and gifts you that lovely 'healing' quality (since greens are healing and fruits are cleansing). i believe both do both... but that's what they specialize in LOL

Thank you so much Aleesha for giving me the go on posting my progress here and for the fabulous tips. I do plan on adding greens. I thought I'd start with fruits first, just to make sure I kept with it my first few days (because I love sweets). I'll be incorporating celery into my juice for dinner tonight and then I'll be adding spinach tomorrow and so on. I had not thought of spirulina, watermelon, or pineapple. I guess I was going with what was in season around here in Iowa. Mostly apples, pears, grapes, peaches, nectarines, raspberries, celery, you know, stuff I can find at the Farmer's Market for a reasonable price.

What about juicing kale, do you think that's a good idea? Because they had some at the market that looked really delicious.

For lunch I'm having grape and peach juice with water.

Who knew I could over-do juice. I thought I was hungry, but I can't seem to finish my juice tonight. I know they say that it's best fresh, but I hate to waste what I've made. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, about juicing kale, do you think that's a good idea? Also, I did some research on spirulina, what form would you suggest? The powder?

Tonight I had celery, apple, strawberry and grape juice. I also weighed myself (206 lbs), took my full measurements and did my 20 minute turbojam. It was a nice cardio workout for me to begin with.

I think I'm already feeling the benefits of my fast. I woke right up today, which I used to do all the time, but recently has been an issue. Recently, I've been sluggish and it's been difficult for me to get out of bed. But today it was like old times. My alarm went off and I awoke feeling rested and ready to wake up. I feel like my old self again. It was fantastic!!!

I made orange, apple and grape juice this morning mixed with water. I made enough for the snack and lunch because I'll be at work all day. Last night I could feel a bit of weakness and some dizziness, but it was very similar to the last time I fasted. I am going to talk to my doctor about reducing my blood pressure medication dose because my weight is down 12 pounds from when she upped the dose and it didn't fix the problem for which she prescribed the extra medication.

Anyway, I'm sort of babbling now, but I'm feeling good.

i froze my juices... 3/4 full mason jars works GREAT. :)

as for kale... i never juiced it so have no opinion. i like adding spirulina powder to my juices but the nuggets (http://www.therawfoodworld.com/product_info.php?ref=199&products_id=1001899&affiliate_banner_id=1) are better if you are looking for a snack while fasting. :) either works...

I juice kale all the time. I basically juice anything edible...Red beet tops, collard greens, lamsquarters, anything.
I willl join you soon in juice fasting, for today I felt like water fast -maybe because I am in pain - pulled my shoulder and neck muscles.

Cool, it's nice to have others doing something similar. The last time it was just me, and it seemed weird talking to my friends who weren't doing it. I felt like I was rubbing it in their faces or something, but I needed to talk about it for some reason. I'm glad I found this forum, because now I can chat about it and not feel like I'm proselytizing to everyone.

I've decided to change my mind. I haven't done it yet, but for dinner, I'm just going to dive right in. I don't know why I thought I needed to do a fast beforehand, but for some reason I did. I'm not really feeling the fast and neither is my body. I've done really good for the past 3 days. In fact, I haven't had any issues. I did my turbojam today, made a pear, apple and peach juice and am not feeling half as weak as I did the last time I fasted, but I really want to move right into the raw food diet. I think I was just a bit scared for some reason.

I think I'm just going to go for it and not look back. I'm going to order Alissa's book on Thursday, when I get paid, but there are some fantastic websites that I've been checking out that will help me out for the next few days while I wait.

Excellent my friend about the de-parasite cleansing. Please make sure you do the minimum time for the full amounts and carry it on for good then in smaller amounts of the Cloves and Wormwood, following HULDA CLARK. I wont be able to take my deparasiting herbs Saturday as I should because Im water fasting and Saturday will only be day 6 of my water fast.
