This is day seven of the raw food diet. I'm having a hard time today. Nothing sounds good. I tried a new salad recipe and it was horrible. I'm hungry and want something different to eat. There are lots of fruits, veggies and nuts in the house but none of it sounds good.
I'm hoping this is just a stage and if I can come up with a few new ideas for meals it will be okay again.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks;
Brenda

You pretty much have to power through this. I would suggest a simple raw recipe to spice up your taste buds. the first week of being raw, I had a migraine every single day and felt just awful, with no energy. I also had no appetite and was absolutely sick of salad, as that was all I had in the house (I went raw overnight with no prep at all, no planning ahead). I gathered up the energy to make this wild rice and marinated mushroom recipe and also zucchini with marinara sauce. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. 'ditto with the first time I made crackers. The longer I am raw the less I need these kinds of dishes to be satisfied, but they were life savers at first.

I can share what works for me (I am on day 41 and on VACATION!)
Follow Alissa's 30-day plan in her book -- buy the foods, make the recipes, and you will have a variety of :p DELICIOUS :p foods available at all times.
I promise -- it will work!

I also love medjool dates to satisfy my sweet tooth, and other yummy raw desserts. But I do agree that especially at first I had to be really strict with myself and deny those cravings, just to get through the first few days/weeks. The cravings still come, but much less often and much less strongly than they used to. Just think of it as exercising your self-control muscle every time you say no to yourself and what you would really like to eat. And every time you exercise your self-control muscle, it gets stronger and that means that the next time will be easier! It really is true!
