Is this product raw or is it heat processed? I am thinking of KTC creamed coconut specifically. It is way easier to get into than a fresh coconut and far less expenseive where I live. Any help would be great. thanks:)

I don't know what creamed coconut is? Coconut butter?

I have never seen coconut butter but this is at my local supermarket and quite inexpensive and really tasty. I emailed the company to ask how they process it and have not heard back yet....not sure if I will either.

I have never seen that. Not sure...but thinking probably not, BUT if it helps you to transition to 100% Raw then have at it. You gotta pick and choose your battles...

I'd guess that it isn't raw, since it doesn't specify that it is. I'd personally skip it unless the company replies and has good things to say.

Do you have any health food stores or anything of the like that would stock Raw Coconut Oil? Me and my brother just copped a canister of Nutiva Coconut Oil recently and it kicks royal ass... any Raw Coconut Oil should be yummy but that's just the kind I tried. I recommend you try it if you can get a hold of it.

this is just very sweet and concentrated. I am hoping to hear back from the company so I get the real story on it. But either way coconut is healthy for it's oils and high fiber content. thanks for your input.

I would bet it is pasteurized . . .

If it comes in one of those soft rectangular boxes like soy and rice milk are sold in, it is certainly pasteurized. Otherwise the boxes would swell up and explode from bacterial contamination. The best raw shortcut I've found to actually opening up a coconut is Artisana Raw Coconut Butter, which contains the coconut meat and oil both - just not the water. I add this to smoothies, puddings and raw ice creams when I want a little extra creaminess, or when I'm low on nuts.

creamed coconut is actually coconut butter...is that raw? I think I have seen it used on recipes on here?
http://www.ctcoconut.com/creamedcoconut.html I have not found coconut butter in any of my local health food stores so this appears to be good news maybe?
