Greetings All,

I luv kelp. I consider it an all natural multi with iodine. I find it tastes good and its one of those 'feel good' foods that for some reason makes me have feelings of well-being.

I was concerned about some articles that mentioned heavy metals being found in some seaweed supps. So I called the company that supplies the seaweed I buy and got some infos.

btw, its about 5 canadian chillies for 40 grammes of organic kelp. Not cheap, but 1 gram a day is a reasonable dosage for someone like myself that tends to hypothyroidism at times.

Ok, so apparently, kelp and other seaweeds tend to absorb heavy metals inside us.. the way the do in the sea.. they tend to rid us of contaminants similarly to the way they do in the sea. Best is, organic means that they are grown in controlled basins. Thank goodness ! Whew! I thought I would have to give up kelp !

It is so good in a cold blended soup. Interestingly, it apparently helps keep your hair its natural color and has a high quantity of alkaline minerals.

I hope this info is useful. Also, any other knowledge about seaweeds would be great. Anybody else like em ?

All good,

LOVE the sea vegetables! They're great... sliced up on salad, nori wraps are awesome, dulse makes a great addition to salad dressings... and as you mentioned before, they soak up contaminants within the body purifying us from the inside out! Not to mention an excellent source for B12

I was born in Japan, so I grew up eating nori. I love nori and all other types of sea vegetables. I feel really good when I include them in my diet. I also like spirulina and chlorella too!
