I made some onion bread and my DH and daughter and I all sampled it yesterday. TOgether , we may have consumed one piece. However, I was the only one to be sickened by it. I had indigestion, burped tons of sulfur...it was like I had eaten eggs, which I have not done in 20 years. I then had the most awful diarrhea....seriously from a few bites of onion???
I was googling and came across many sites which tout the powers of onion to heal these symptoms.
?????
Needless to say it is going in the trash....way too salty anyway. :(

Onions and garlic are notorious anti-candida foods. Symptoms of candida die-off include gastric distress. not saying that is for sure but it is a possibility.

If its the onion bread that has flaxseed in it - that does the same thing to me. I can't use flaxseed in much or my stomach goes wild.

I can eat tons of flaxseed without any effect. Raw onions always give me a little stomach uneasiness, but NEVER these symptoms. Too much garlic is not good on my system either, but once again never this.
A friend suggested that maybe it was this region that these onions came from if they were too high in sulfur. I just thought it was such a bizarre reaction. I was hesitant about the recipe to begin with, but thought if it was the signature dish of Rawvolution and so many raved about it that I would try.
I do have a sugar addiction issue that is always lurking.
Thanks for the ideas.

My partner and I don't eat either onions or garlic. She's allergic, I stay away for other reasons. If she eats onion, it's game over for her... she's out of commission curled up because of severe stomach pains, she gets really bad gas. Even the slightest bit of onion, and she can immediately tell when it hits her stomach if she can't taste it. Everyone has a unique biological makeup, what may do wonders for another may wreak havoc upon you.

Could be food allergy or more likely that something was off, I recently had raw food poisoning and those were my symptoms, but for 3 days plus cramping.
