I found this site and found it interesting, though haven't been able to read it all. Seems to make sense how cooked food is addicting and all. Happy reading!

Sharon, thanks for posting this. I had read something similar before, don't know where. Maybe on Doug's board. It certainly explains things doesn't it!

Well, that explains my addiction to wheat and dairy, specifically.
Thanks for posting this.

Thanks Sharon for sharing this interesting article!
I only read the beginning (haven't had time to read it all yet).
I already am quite familier about this
subject...
my oldest son has been gluten/casein free for 4 years now
because he cannot digest the peptides in these food well and they do
have an opiate effect on him; that is why gluten/casein free diets
are popular in autistic circles...he has done labtests thru the Great Plains
Lab (http://www.gpl4u.com/gluten-casein.html). My friends daughter was in a daze half the time
with speech problems
and not even responding to her name when called before she was tested; she came back with one of the highest casein peptides results ever...
she drank a lot of cow's milk prior to testing..she would just want to drink drink drink. Anyways both kids have made lots of progress and are typical kids
pretty much now...the peptide problem is just one of the gut issues these kids have...domino effect of leaky gut (yeast issues, food allergies, etc...).
Not that this article relates to autism...but just throwing it out there it being related...

Hey Punky I do think there was a mention of behavioral problems linked with the consumption of (cooked) grains.
