If you find that your 64 ounce container is too tall for the fridge, you may have discovered that it's not the container that's too tall, but the container PLUS the top cover. If that's the case for you, read on:

In looking for an alternate cover, I found that tupperware lids can be used as a substitute. If you look at the top of your container, you will see a convenient lip that is perfect for resting a tupperware lid on (photo). I didn't have to look very far to find two spare tupperware containers in my kitchen that fit perfectly (photo). And one of the lids even has a handy lift finger on it that matches and covers the container's spout (photo). I've been using these lids for about a year. The only thing to be careful with - I always keep my hand on these lids when I start my VitaMix, just in case something wants to slosh out. That has never happened yet.

Me either, I keep my smoozies in quart jars since that's how much I drink at a time. Don't want too much air in the container to oxidize the contents. Good idea for those who DO want to keep 'em in the container.

I'm not a morning person. I place the ingredients for two green/raw smoothies in the container at night. Pull it out of the fridge in the morning, and all I have to do is blend. I've learned to put certain things in first (like avocados), because they do oxidize fast. By going in first, they are kept under water, and thus sealed from the air. Apples are the worst for oxidizing, they go in after I pull the container out of the fridge.
