Well, I'm on day 7 of my very first juice fast and amazed that I have lasted this long..

I have to say that I didn't expect it to cost as much as it does though.. My husband doesn't get paid until Tuesday and I work from home and haven't had any checks come in so he literally sat down last night and took out a jug of change we just started collecting and counted change so that I won't have to switch this to a juice fast until Tuesday, lol.. :) He is such an awesome guy! He said the last time he remembers counting change was when we were first married 15 years ago.. we both thought that was funny and it felt like the old days when we were poor and had no money (well, we are poor now too, but we were poorer then, lol).. Just wanted to share that.. :) It's never felt so good to have no money.. That seems like such a strange thing to say doesn't it?

Sounds as though you're counting blessings along with your change. :)

I have had to do that too and its funny. Yet I am grateful I have change to count. Keep up your fast and even go forage for free greens...dandelions make great juice with an apple of two and clean the blood!!!

I am! I am not upset at all about having to count change.. it makes me appreciate the little things you know? ..and a check came in today so we were able to hit the farmers market! So no water fast for me unless I decide to.. :D

I have found that when coming off a fast it is a good opportunity to make eating habit changes because the old eating habits have been effectively paused. If you have any diet items you want to leave behind your coming up on a good moment in time to do that.

I am going to go look and see if I can find anything. I know they do have dandelions though but not sure if they are local.. definitely not free.

And yes, the check was VERY welcome!! It always seems to come through when we need it.. glad I'm not the only one that has been there though.. counting coins.. :)

This is EXACTLY why I'm fasting!! :D I was having such a hard time staying raw and I was getting pretty discouraged. I started eating raw last September so I figured now is a perfect time to do something I hadn't tried and I really hope it will get me excited about eating raw again. Not that I have ever been not excited, but I think I needed something new to renew some passion.. So far I've had ups and downs which I know is very normal.. my back keeps hurting, like the upper part sort of behind each of my lungs. It went away and now it's back again. I know it's detox and even though it hurts I know it's the toxins releasing so I am happy about it. Strange huh? If I told anyone else about this (besides my husband) they would tell me I should stop and eat meat.

the longer you fast the more you release (of non raw foods) from your desires. it worked wonders for me!

dandelions are not so yummy at this time of year... better in the spring. ;) but fruit is abundant, especially on trees. if you see a tree, go ask the people if they mind if you take a bag of fruit... most people don't mind at all!

That's interesting to know (about the dandelions).. I never thought of asking someone if I could pick fruit. That's a great idea!! And it will help a lot.. this is apple season and there are tons of apple trees. At the farmers market yesterday there was a stand that had about 15 different types of apples and I paid $6 to fill up a bag of any kind I wanted! It was lots of fun! The only drawback is I'm not sure if I will be able to tell the difference juicing them AND if I do I won't know which is which, lol! :D

No, but I will! That seems an odd combination but I trust you after trying your tomato juice recipe.. :D I have added ginger though and loved it! The first time I added too much and it was VERY gingery, lol.. almost made my eyes water..

green apples are the BEST with the parsley!
