Just a heads up here....you might want to smell your kale, and open the leaves and look in side, before you purchase it. We had several bunches that had some really rank smelling dirt and mold spots in the leaves down the length of the stems. I found the same bad stuff at three stores. I suspect some major grower had their fields flooded (with who knows what) during that week or so of constant rain that swept across the midwest in late August. I can't believe the stuff was even shipped from the fields like that, and then to be put out for sale .
I finally picked up some good stuff tonight from Whole Foods (the bad batches were not from them) that was grown in SW Wisc, and made some chips with lemon, tarrogan, and rosemary.

Thanks for the heads up. Kale does get a rancid smell really quick!
Thanks for the tip.
You watch. We'll be hearing about E. Coli in the Kale next.

I brought some kale home once and when I got my bags out of the trunk I smelled a sour milk smell. Thought my milk (for Family) had spilled. Got inside and couldn't find any leaky bottles. Finally realized it was the kale. Ewwww - took it back. They asked me if I wanted to get some in exchange and I said not from that batch thanks!

Ehhh - so so. My plan was to be raw till the equinox which is September 22. I have good days and bad days. Thanks for asking. Still pushing forward though and that's what counts. Right?!:D
