This forum is fantastic ~ I've been reading for weeks and have learned so much.

I've been eating approximately 90% raw for several weeks, have discovered some delicious new recipes (raw cashew and avocado chocolate 'puddings' ~ fabulous!), have lost several pounds, but more important: I feel great!

I'm turning 52 next week, and thanks to inheriting a genetic hypothyroid and the joys of menopause, I look in the mirror and don't recognize the body I'm walking around in. I have 'only' about 20 pounds to lose, but it feels like my body would appreciate de-toxifying nasty things out of it as well as enhancing my health with alive foods rather than cooked (read: dead) things. I know I'm preaching to the choir here! :D

Anyway, just want to say HI, and thanks for all of the information shared in this wonderful forum.

Welcome! I feel the need to detox too, just from looking in the mirror. I have a lot more weight to lose, but I also notice a general puffiness that I think the raw food diet will really help.

Welcome! So glad you are enjoying this healing journey! Do you have Alissa's Book and DVDs? Powerful tools! I don't have those yet, but as I delve further into this way of eating, the more I'd like to learn. In other words, the more I learn, the more I want to know! :D Thanks for the suggestion!

Welcome! I feel the need to detox too, just from looking in the mirror. I have a lot more weight to lose, but I also notice a general puffiness that I think the raw food diet will really help. I've noticed an occasional puffiness too, and from my reading I've decided that it's general inflammation, and if I eat something with sodium in it I'll retain water. I can see that by eating raw, only using pink sea salt, drinking plenty of water and making sure I include certain fruits and vegetables (watermelon and cucumber), that puffiness is GONE!

Thank you... I tell all that I am youthing not aging. It is not a denial of my age as I proudly say I am 50. It is , rather, the way I feel and my reality!!!

I have the body and skin of a 30 somethin and feel like a child so I suppose I am "youthing" huh? Raw sure does rawk!!!
