I'm going grocery shopping next week, but wanted to ask you all what you think I should get?

What are your favorite staples to keep on hand?

almond-cashew or sunflower butter, coconut oil, dates, banana, ginger, what ever fruits/veggies you like...nuts..I keep almonds, walnuts bc I make my own milk, honey, ACV, lemon. I'm still learning what I like/don't like so I don't have a stock yet.
If you have room for a stand up freezer but don't have one & find one at a great deal or even a freecycle, get it!! You'll fill it up with things on sale & seaonal things.

Great suggestions. Do you have Alissa's book? She's got a wonderful shopping list.

Fresh veggies that you like and WILL eat.
Same with fruits.
Water
Seeds
Sprouts

When I first started I made a list of things I didn't necessarily NEED but I wanted and then I prioritized. And gradually added to my pantry as I have been able to afford it.

Things I pretty much ALWAYS have on hand:

Fresh fruits and veggies (whatever you like)
Walnuts
Almonds
Sunflower seeds
Flax seeds
Extra Virgin (cold pressed) Olive Oil
Dates

Then I gradually added things like:
Extra Virgin (cold pressed) Coconut Oil
Cacao
Chia Seeds (had I known then what I know now, these would have been much sooner)
Other nuts
Sundried Tomatoes

It might help to make a menu (you don't have to stick to it but it can be a guide) or even a list of things you want to make this week and make a grocery list off of your menu. This is what I do every week. Like this week I know I'm making:

Ani Phyo's Mango Cobbler (made with peaches)
Peppers stuffed with Jalapeno Burger and cheezy sauce (both these recipes are here)
Gorilla Sandwiches
Marinated Portobella Mushrooms
Kale Chips
Some kind of cracker (to be determined)

Now that may not be ALL I make but at least I have a basic idea.

Best of luck,
Heather
