Hello Everyone,
I am new here. First time poster; new raw vegan! 16 weeks ago, I was still vegetarian, I had strep throat. Then I broke out in hives which later was diagonosed as guttate psoriasis. I had psoriasis as a child but not in my adult years and I am 38 years old.
It is from head to toe. I look like I have the measles/chicken pocks from my head to on the bottom of my feet. Between my toes, on my eyelids; in my ears etc. Its very depressing and of course people walk around me in circles asking me if I am contageous! They gave me prednisone for 1 month and consequently I have literally gained 20 lbs.
I am on methotrexate for treating it and its been 12 weeks on this cancer drugs and they have had no effect.
So I decided to go completely raw and start a juice fast to help me cleanse my body to assist with these drugs.

does anyone believe that going Raw might help me with this situation? I am about at witts end....if anyone has any encouraging replies, I'd love to hear them.

CW: 160
GW: 140 what I used to be!!!!

I got very bad skin problems(rashes, excema, etc) and eventually found I was literally 'fermenting'.I learned about food combining, combining my fats and fruits, etc. I would do research and start to see if you see results.Oh, and yes go raw. get some vital energy back! I went on steroids and at 1st I was the strongest woman in the world :) but it sucked really.
Hope that helps. i know the skin problems can be really mentally depressing, hang in there!

Bless your heart....I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I broke out in guttate psoriasis last year, quite suddenly and dramatically. I tried two rounds of prednisone which did nothing for it but alot of weird and unpleasant stuff to me. Being partially raw did not really help it, but going ALL raw for about a month cleared it up completely and it has never returned.

I, too, had it from head to toe, including very severe patches on the soles of my feet.

Love to you. Hang in there. I know it's an overwhelming thing.

Incidentally, I am not all raw now, nor have I been for months, and still, it's never come back. I guess the initial cleansing was enough for me to knock it out.

Well said Aleesha!!
I cleared up my ezcema in just two weeks, going 100% raw, but mine was not as nearly as bad as yours!! As Aleesha has said, what would it hurt?
