Hello Fellow Raw Foodists,

I am rediscovering raw foodism for the second time in the past 2-3 years. I am trying my best to make this my permanent lifestyle. When I first began raw, I was going to the bathroom every other hour and eliminating the SAD waste accrued from years of eating SAD. I know that I am retaining both water and waste. The water weight is slowly eliminating since I have been 90% raw for two days.

What foods do you recommend for expediting this process? I know that everyBODY is different, but I am eating primarily organic fruits and veggies. Here is the list:

Apples (3 a day) - very high in fiber
Cucumber (1-2 a day)
Raspberries and Blackberries
Melon

I am staying away from bananas, avocados and nuts.

Are you eating salt ?

EZ rider,

Surprisingly, no. It was common for me on the SAD lifestyle to eat salty foods, but now I am eating cucumbers without salt and several fruits and veggies. I was calculating my food intake and have learned that veggies have some small sodium content like 10 mg. I am avoiding salt like the plague so that I don't retain water. The water is actually leaving my body successfully, but I am surprised that the waste isn't coming out as fast.

Sometimes in the midst of cleansing stuff gets stuck. Even water can hold due to the toxins releasing. It is diluting them untl they are released fromt he tissues.

Colon cleansing is a must. I would get a colon hydrotherapy session or two. Enemas on your own at home. If in emergency for backup that has been too long (one day is too long) then you can take a slat water flush wth epsom salts.

Bentonite clay and physillium husk powder helps too.
Chia seeds, flax and also aloe vera. All these are very helpful

Soaked dried figs and flax seeds are great to get the digestion moving. Along with all fiberous fruits (apples, pears, pinapples, fresh figs, dates...). Cutting too low on fat can slow your digestion down for some people. A piece of coconut or an avocado once in a while might actually help you.

Be careful with the figs..I have a hug tree & was eating them in abundance when they first came it...10 or more a day, I didn't go for 2 days.

Some people get more clogged with dried fruts esp if they have candida issues or dont drink enough water to rehydrate those babies.
