I never had that before, it started in 2007 when i did raw food. So sad about this, but i don't blame that on the diet except that i would like to heal from these allergies and i refuse to take anything that isn't natural. I am up and this is middle of the night, not being able to breath properly and my sinus burning. I suspect rag weed and also something else that might be in season because my sinus literally plug when i am in some places and other place it clear. I feel selfish about that, but i am looking forward for a frost so these allergies end :(

Anyway, do you have an suggestion to get ride of these allergies naturally?

hey, I hear using 2 tlbs a day if you to allergic to bees works for many people and reduces symptoms up to 70-80%.... I know its not vegan but... its natural and this process doesn't hurt the animal!

My son has allergies and I use a combination of things to control it.

Neti pot to rinse out the sinuses
Nettles & Eyebright children's allergy drops
raw honey mixed with ACV

This seems to keep his symptoms to a minimum most of the time.

Netti pot is a must for allergies and sinus.
Also the bioflavenoid component of vita C is called Quercitin. It knocks out allergies to pollen and such very quickly.

Good Heaven, just by curiosity, i googled food to avoid during hay fever season.

There are food that if eaten during that season, will aggravate the allergies. Of course dairy is one of them but there are also natural raw food such nuts, bananas, watermelon etc... I suspect for me more nut also chocolate is to be avoid, i have been having raw cacao.

Last year, i was suspecting the nuts. This year, i started to make almond milk and desert with cashew and my allergies did aggravate then. I think i will have to isolate the food and figure out which one worst. It might be a time for me next year to do a fast during the allergy season.

On the other hand there are food that help during that fall time season and has QUERCETIN: Apples, berries, red grape, red onion, caper and back tea(don't think so for this one, lol...).

A site if found says that these food aggravate: Banana, cucumber, melon, zucchini, sunflower seeds, chamomille and echinacea

I think for me, it could be sunflower, almond, cashew or any nuts. I don't think this is the fruits because i have been eating fruit since the 80's, on the other hand, i have never eat so many nuts since doing raw food.

I won't stop eating that but perhaps during end of July through mid September, i should avoid food that can aggravate that. :(

Thank you again for all the tips, you gave me, i will try that and also trying to stay away from certain food during that season.

I am also new to allergy land. Frustrating. I get this dry hacky non-productive cough. An herbalist acquaintance put me onto Fenugreek (the mucous mover). Then my md suggested Nasopure, an easier to use neti sort of thing. Those two things have made a huge difference. Thanks for the post, though about foods that aggravate. I'll pay more attention to diet next year when this season rolls around. I was pretty miserable for about a month. ;)

HI Raw Angel Mom,

Well dear,You may be have the problem of sinus infection or ulcers due to which burning is possible. To remove the allergy is not possible clearly but to avoid it there are many precautionary measures. In Allergies process, the human body treat good foods like antigens and attack them by mistake. You have to take the advice of good doctor.

Thanks

Thank you Contessa, i will check.

Since you said that using the neti pot hurt, I'm wondering if you used a buffered salt solution and water that was near body temperature. For the salt mix, I use 2 parts baking soda and 1 part non-iodized salt. Probably I use a bit more than a teaspoon of the mix in a pint of warm water.

I've tried plain water before and you're right. It hurts like the dickens (whatever that is).
