I'll post a more complete 3 months raw update on friday in the before and after thread (may even get up the courage to post pix) but I am so excited I just HAD to post this right now! I am at work and tested my Hemoglobin A1c. This measures your average blood sugar over the last three months. My all time high was 6.2, which is pre-diabetic and equals an average blood sugar of 140. Right when I went raw, it was 6.0, equaling an average blood sugar of 136. This is still pre-diabetic.
I just tested it again and...........drumroll please.........5.7, which means an average blood sugar of 105!!!!! No longer pre-diabetic! A drop of 31 points! This is so huge for me and I am so grateful to God, Alissa, and everyone here for all your encouragement. And my eyes, blood vessels, and pancreas thank you too! :D

I got Gabriel Cousen's book and DVD about diabetes and followed a less strict version of that (because I wasn't actually diabetic yet). I did not do the three weeks no fruit but have kept my fruit consumption low to moderate and have had a dessert only a few times. I have only in the last week allowed myself an all fruit smoothie and I find they just don't appeal to me that much (except the chocolate banana ones, lol!). I do not limit my fat consumption at this time, but I am finding that the further on I go, the less fat I seem to crave. The first few weeks I was dumping olive oil on everything! Now I still have what I want but seem to want less, which is nice. I have just gotten into fasting as well and plan to make it a regular practice. I am sure my pancreas loves the total break I give it. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
