I know that may be a stupid question but here goes. I started wondering if your eating raw vegan, and you consume a large majority of fats from nuts seeds avocados olives etc, is that really so unhealthy for your body? Or is it more bad because its so high in calories?

I don't eat nuts. After going all raw I found that I liked to eat avocados. I would eat anywhere from 1 or 2 avo's in a day to as many as 6 in a day sometimes. I also used to eat sunflower seeds covered with Hemp seed oil. Gradually my tastes changed and now at just over 2 years raw I eat a much simpler raw diet. I don't pour oil over seeds anymore and I eat far fewer avocados now sometimes going for days not eating any. The changes happened easily and naturally as I listened to my body's communications or "signals". I have found that my body has been and continues to evolve or change as I continue to live the raw food lifestyle.

Doing that gave me raging candida. I cut the fat and now it's gone.

I don't worry about the amount of fat, i just go with what i feel like, lol...

You need the good fat to lose the bad one and you also need the good fat to get the oxygen for your cell. I naturally don't eat much fat but some days i do more then others.

I try to trust my body and try to listen to its need. It is hard to do because we go so brain washed to eat a certain way but the more you try to listen, the better you get.

Large majority? Would that be over 50% of your calories coming from nuts, seeds, avocados, coconuts, and oils?

I don't count calories anymore, but when I was tracking my raw diet it showed my calories were between 30% and 50% from fats. I consider 30-40% normal for me. Sometimes I have a day that is likely over 50%. Adding in more greens on those high fat days keeps me feeling balanced.

well I have fallen in love with coconuts and avocados and always keep a raw vegan chocolate tart (with love of nuts) on hand.

I have always been a picky eater since I was a kid but then the last few years I have experimented with lots more... Not so much tastes that bother me now the the texture! Which brings up another question I will post.

how long have you been raw now?

trust in the process. allow yourself to just eat raw. just eat whatever you want... as much as you need to to stay raw. over time your body will change what you desire/want from your diet.

but in the beginning... just eat raw. simple really.

I like the nuts/avacado but it easy for me to gain wt so I eat some but in moderation unless I'm really craving it then I feel that my body wants it.
