As you might know, parts of California's are and has been on Fire. Although I could look at the Mountains and see the Blaze, the Planes and the Chemical Retartants, this went on for 10 days straight.
The Smoke is finally becoming less. I estimate I've been breathing around 6 or 7 packs a day. I know this has been difficult on People with compromisng Health issues. I have to breath the Smoke in order to Breath AIR but I'm not too much worried about it because being RAW will cover Me and Cleanse My Body of this when it all subsides.
The Fire Department closed the Gym down last week because the Air Quality was SO BAD.
My home is still Standing and I think Revell's is too but loss has occured in nearby areas. Two Fireman lost their Lives rolling down the Mountain, in their Vehicle, while fighting the Fire. So the Ashes around here are minor. Then there's the Wild Life that has been burned out of their home.

Spicyful - I didn't realize you were so close too - guess your location should have tipped me off!! Sorry you have been dealing with this and I am glad you and your home is safe. Hopefully the smoke will start clearing soon.

BOY! Sorry this is happening (to anyone)....woweeeee I think, even though I am raw, I would get outa that smoke as much as I possibly can. I would get an air purifier for sure, even tho most dont do alot on smoke. I would go away on day trips as much as possible!!!
I hope you keep the status quo and are ok. Hoping they get them out soon. Arson? How horrible that is.

Spicyfull ~ So sorry you are breathing smoke! I'm in the San Diego area and remember very well the air quality (or lack of) in the October 2007 fires. I agree that it would be best if you can get yourself away to breath some unsmoky air as much as possible. Revvell has been heading over to the coast to breathe.
Fire threats bring up so many emotional issues. Especially if one is evacuated and has no knowledge of the status of their home.
Glad your home is still intact and trust it will stay that way.
I met a lady who survived that October firestorm by hiding behind the waterfall in her swimming pool. She and her husband barely escaped their house and were devastated the learn in the morning that their neighbors had not been as lucky.
Just keep counting your blessings.

Heading out again now. Sort of like mini-working vacations. We'll find a place we can work; then head over to the beach for a bit, then food and more work, then back to the beach. :D

Thanks Everyone, although things are getting better, it does not sound like I live near an Airport, the Smoke smell will probably be with us for a few more days. Revvell has the right idea.......Get out of Dodge. But I have been doing my daily routine as before and as everyone else.

This is the first morning in about 10 days I've awakened without the smell of smoke in our house. I think, if we'd not done a couple of REALLY long walks at the beach yesterday, I could actually go out walking the neighborhood this morning.
Bears had been spotted in the area before the fire. I'm thinking there'll be even more wildlife hanging around down here now.
Been up since 2:30 or so. Think I'll head back to bed for a bit before going to the farmers' market.

I'm so sorry it's that bad. I hope the fires die down soon. Not good. :(
We had a very similar thing here in Australia last summer, the worst fire season we've ever experienced, hundreds died. :(

I remember reading about that. We were lucky ~ "only" two firefighters died and about 8 people injured in a 150,000 acre fire. This was quite possibly the worst fire EVER in the U.S. as far as acres burned methinks.
Still have the windows open, still breathing the air... a good thing! :)
What's funny is, (funny peculiar, not funny ha ha) ~ last night the fire was about 48% contained and I can't find any local news updates on it this morning. It's taken a backseat to everything else going on.
