Hi,

My mum was at a store the other day where the Vitamix was being demonstrating the Vitamix. My mum said how great it was!! I'd heard of the Vitamix before but just thought of it as an expensive blender, but having been online reading about it, I now know it is more then that.. but am confused!!

I don't understand if the Vitamx is just a blender, a blender that produces a "juice" consistency (but still contains the fibre), or is it both a blender and a juicer? And if so, would a Vitamix replace a juicer? If anyone could clear this up, it would be great... a Vitamix is sooo much money, i just want to make sure i know what i'm getting!

If you are serious about wanting to improve your eating - then yes get one.

A blender BLENDS the foods leaving in all the fiber.

A juice JUICES the foods, taking out all the fiber.

Please do a search on the pros and cons of a VitaMix...it's been discussed forever on here.

I have two of them,lol.... I love them

There is the blendtech that other like. If you don't mind the digital aspect, you can go for it. They have 3 HP apparently. I tried it at my friend and i prefer my vitamix. They have great waranty and i love the fact that you can control the speed yourself.

This is totatlly up to you but it is sure a great investment.

Enjoy

Of course you should get one! You need not look further.

Ignore what they say about it being a juicer. It doesn't juice although, you can make juice with it if you strain the blended produce yet, why would you when you get the benefits of the WHOLE produce including the fiber? Who can live without fiber?

I finally got one a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it!! Best investment I've ever made. It gets used numerous times throughout the day.

It's a fantastic blender, and it also takes over for a few jobs that I used to use my food processor for - nut butters, sauces, etc.

The newest version has variable speed. I saved a few bucks and got the 4500 model, which has only low and high. Works for me - start off on low and switch to high. As that's the only difference, I don't think I'm missing anything.

Great great product!! :D

I have an Old Vitamix 3600 and a Brand new Blendtec. I bought the Blendtec since i already have a vitamix. The Blendtec is awesome and is the only one i have been using .I got it with an extra container for $370 shipped. You can get a discounted one here:

Either the Vitamix or the Blendtec will do great. It has allowed me to incorporate green smoothies in my diet which are awesome

not a Vitamix in my kitchen - but I am loving my Blend-tec hp3a! It's been in daily use since the minute it came out of the box. I got this earlier in the summer, and it makes such short work out of many blending tasks it's not funny! You will get much more nutrition out of your green smoothies too, and be able to use the much denser greens including stalks that you simply cannot do in a regular blender. Personally I noticed a difference in how I feel after doing my smoothies in a high-speed blender. But there are countless things other things one can do, too. Whichever you get, whether it's a Vitamix or a Blend-tec, you won't regret it all! With this you will have your smoothie meal in less than a minute - how cool is that? Talk about fast food - in this case it's actually GOOD for you!
Do whatever you can to save up the $$. Just as an example of how worthwhile this is, my husband who is usually pretty frugal and very discriminating about any kind of equipment(he's an excellent digital photographer who is moving into video)told me to just go ahead and get one, right off the bat when he saw this at the vacation house we were at in Hawaii in May - no questions asked! I'm also very discriminating about what kitchen stuff I have and don't like to just buy stuff for the sake of buying it(after all, I do have an apartment kitchen - LOL!), but I am very pleased with the 3 mainstays of raw food prep that I've gotten, the Excalibur dehydrator(around 2000), Cuisinart food processor(after last Christmas)and most recently, the Blend-tec. Oh, and throw in a good chef's knife as well!

You sound like the person to ask. I can buy a reconditioned 5200 Vita-Mix from the factory. Retail $575 Reconditioned $375. Comes with the full 7 year warranty as a new one.
Any advice will help. It is a lot of money.
Thanks

Go for it!

Listen, my parents bought a VitaMix when I was 14 years old - I remember vividly how EXPENSIVE it was. That was 1976.

A few months ago, while I was debating whether to buy one, my parents loaned me theirs -- the one they bought in 1976!!!! That machine is amazing! We have lived 3,000 miles apart for 20 years, and suddenly they come to California with their vintage VitaMix that never skips a beat.

It is a lot of money, but it is an investment you will not regret. Think of it as an heirloom - seriously!

Let me know how it goes!

Just want to chime in here as a new Vita-mix owner: YES, YOU NEED ONE!!! I didn't make any raw meals/snacks/smoothies at all, my POS blender from Target was just not worth the time. I got my Vita about 2 weeks ago, I have used it every single day, multiple times a day. I LOVE THAT THING! So worth the money!!
