Hi.. I would like to know if peanut is allowed in raw food diet? I know nuts and seeds are good when we want to go raw.. How about peanut?

Peanuts can be eaten raw, but not a good idea because they usually contain dangerous aflatoxins. Pistachios also are best avoided, for the same reason.

I buy only the David Wolf ones occasionally.
If not store properly, it is true that peanut could have mold which are carcinogen. This is very toxic (aflatoxin).
Here is a good article on this topic.

If you eaten even roasted peanut, they could have contained that toxin and eating fresh fruits/vegetables that are rich in anti-oxidant will get ride of that if you have any in your system. Here is some recommended food

Find a real true raw almond and make raw almond butter.

Thanks for the links Raw Angel Mom.
I think raw ones are quite hard to digest, and I don't mind eating a little of the cooked pb. (I'm oh, 90 - 95% raw) However, I have heard that Valencia peanuts are less likely/do not contain the aflatoxin.
I've also heard that you can see mold on the nuts (If you make it yourself) with a black light. I've tried it and have never seen any mold. Hmmmm.
My thoughts anyway.
