I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitus and it is not clinically shown that much can be done with diet to help this condition. I was put on a medication for a year, then taken off of it and guess what happened? All my symptoms came back! I took myself off wheat, then dairy, then fats, then green leafy veggies. I put myself on all kinds of probiotics, digestive enzymes, saw a traditional chinese medecine doctor (which was awesome!) then I talked to a family member who introduced me to raw foods. That week I was hooked. By day 2 on the diet all the pain associated with my colitus was gone...GONE!! I bought some books on raw foods, and my life is now spent pain free and "un-cooking" my way to health. I have a ways to go I believe, but I am motivated and comitted. My friends and family think I am a crazy "hippie" but most of them are overweight, sluggishly tired all the time. I'm excited to find a community like this one that can give support and encouragement!
Good health to all!!

What an incredible story! You go right ahead and be a "crazy hippie" here. One man was so afraid of what his wife would say if she found out, that he gave it up, then died. That's such a sad sad story. His wife loved him, but his fear of her wrath over eating raw.. well, it's just too sad. I'm so very glad your family's comments don't stop you.
