Hey everyone.
I really would like to do a good smoothie feast for 30 days (with some normal fruit eating in case I need something quick and on the go) to really see for myself what green smoothies can do health wise. A little experiment. Anyways I just had one today for breakfast and within an hour I was FAMISHED!

Now I am the type of person who get distracted and forgets to eat for hours, so extreem hunger isn't something I am super used to. Right now I am s.a.d. which is why I want to do the green smoothies, I'd really notice a difference for my experiment and I want to then be ready to a full time raw fooder.

My question is why is it making me sooooooooo hungry? I had over a liter of it for breakfast and then took a walk with my friend through the park and now I am starving and it doesn't feel nice.

Is there anything i can do, will this lessen? I want to be able to do the 30 days but i think it will be very hard if I am hungry all the time and around all my friends not eating this way.

This is what was in my smoothie : Kale, banana, peaches, strawberries, and a little bit of frozen cranberries

Any ideas or suggestions would be so appreciated :) Thank you so much.

how much of each fruit? I add hemp protein and ground flax seeds myself :D

I usually use like 4 or 5 nana's
3-5 cups of greens
4 TBSP raw hemp protein
I TBSP ground flax seeds
handful of berries

I'm like that too. I feel full but am hungry. Don't know what it is. Guess I need to add hemp. I use spinach.

Maybe increase the amount of bananas that you are using - they add great flavor to green smoothies and are good at filling you up! You may also want to try adding some coconut oil or flax seed oil. When I put a Tbsp. of coconut oil in my smoothie, it will last me pretty much the whole work day.

It might also make a difference if you are drinking it all down in a short amount of time, or sipping it slowly. I can really make that smoothie last by drinking it slowly, and it helps keep me feeling more satisfied.

Mix up your ingredients and try adding in a little bit of fat for more staying power.

On a somewhat related note - I'm always starving after eating apples! I won't eat them by themselves because of it. I'll be ten times hungrier than I was before I ate!

do you put hemp in them? cause my friend who adds hemp gets very hungry afterwards (doesn't happen to me... but it does for her)... and without hemp a GS satisfies her for hours.

I don't think I've ever had hemp before so i haven't used it, and it's not too much fruit, i don't measure I just put some in. More banana's sound good:)

I get concerned about the fats with banana/c-oil/avacado that I don't add them to the smoothie much. Is better to have it once or twice a day or throughout. I make one..water/spinach/melon/berry/cukes/ figs past few days since I picking at least 30 per day. I make about 40 oz & drink it all day. I'd prefer to drink vs chew. I'm home a lot so it's so easy to go the kitchen.

I personally wouldn't worry about adding the GOOD fats to GSs. We need a certain amount of fat. Also, try drinking a glass of water before your smoothie as you might actually be thirsty (dehydrated) instead of hungry. Also HOW do you drink it? Fast? If yes, slow it down. Savor your smoothie.

I drink at least 6 cups of green smothie every morning (a little more than a litre) but I can't drink it all in one shot because it makes me feel full. I sip it slowly over the course of the morning and finish it by noon and this way I don't feel hungry. And at noon, I'm not too full for lunch.

Here's what I put in mine:
3 leaves of kale or swish chard
handfull of buckwheat sprouts
1 banana
pineapple
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 tbsp hemp protein
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp kelp flakes
