View Full Version : Allergic reaction or detox symptoms?

I started incorporating raw foods (green juices and superfoods) into my diet about three weeks ago. I am not 100 percent raw (I would say about 60-70%). The first week I felt fine but the past couple of weeks I have been sneezing a lot, constantly have a runny nose (particularly in the mornings), fatigue, and body itching (especially in the legs).
What I am wondering is whether or not these are normal detox symptoms or allergic reactions? How long do detox symptoms last?
In addition, my diet before was really bad. I switched from eating tons of fast foods, junk foods, and alcohol (wine and spirits) daily but took vitamins.

I suspect more detox then allergies but it could be a combination of both.
It all depends of everybody, the worst of it may not last long or it cans come and go.
You can consider to get a colon hydro therapy. This wash out the toxin in your guts which prevent them to go back in your blood stream. Do research about this.
Also, you probably has withdrawn sickness from the alcohol and the very toxic food you had.
Increase your fiber intake and more water, to help your body to get ride of those toxins easier.
You are doing a very good thing for your body, just hang in there.
Hope you feel better soon.

Increase the water & keep a journal of what you're eating to see when it's worse or happens. When I juice carrots/celery/zucchini together, it makes me feel very sick to my stomach. I cannot juice or smoothie zucchini but I can eat it whole.

When I left caffeine, alcohol [just beer], tea, mustard, and many additives that I was consuming, I had several headaches during two weeks or so. After that everything became normal as it should have been since the very beginning :)
