I just read a cool and free e-book by Frank J. Ferendo called Reasonably Raw. Here is a link to it http://www.frankferendo.com/images/pdf/ReasonablyRaw.pdf. You can also go to his web site and download it for free.

I feel I can mention it here because he quotes Alissa in it, credits her book and DVD with his staying raw and lists her book number one on his favorite raw food cookbooks. How cool is that?

He goes through all the raw food celeb "gurus" explaining about their ideas - Cousins, Wolfe, Boutenko, Wigmore, and others. He talks about The China Study. He goes through the steps you go through in becoming raw. I thought that was quite interesting because I saw myself there. I am actually on one of the last stages right now - commitment. I have made a commitment to be raw till the equinox.

I read this book this weekend and found it really inspirational!! Read most of it aloud to husband and even got him thinking about the RAW Food Movement and what it can do for our health and the planet!!

Thank you Snoops :)

I started reading and have a minor correction for the author :D

Somewhere in the beginning he's saying that animal protein is the worst thing ever, which is quite misleading. It needs to be emphasized that cooked protein is the problem. It doesn't matter whether it's plant or animal. I hope he's aware of this.

But obviously in those studies it will always be the case that animal protein is the problem, because usually people never eat raw animal food, and vegetables don't contain that much protein so less damage is done if they are cooked.

That was a brilliant read. Accessible and concise.

I just came off a cleanse and this was great reading material to set me up for rebuilding my diet. It closed the book for me regarding any doubts I had about giving up meat.

My favourite quotes from the publication:

"change comes in stages"

"[be] reasonably raw, not absolutely raw"

"If you can't be raw, at least be vegan"

"So, while we can make healthy living easier, we cannot make it easy".
