Hello everyone,

I have been following this forum for months without joining just to get some insight on the Raw Food movement. Your stories have been an inspiration for my new journey on changing my lifestyle.

I completed my Raw Food Chef training in GA in June 2009, but It's still an everyday learning process.

My grandmother was a natural healer. She was raised in the country parts of South Carolina where she picked her own roots in the backwoods. She used to teach me how to cure my own ills growing up and until she died from lung cancer in 2008, I have a deep longing to learn as much as I can so I can teach others how to get well.

I have 5 kids, who are almost impossible to change when it comes to getting them to eat more raw foods. But I am holding out fairly well. Im about 80% and on good days 100. Then there are times my hormones get the best of me and Im in the kitchen munching on Cheezits! I know no one here is perfect, but hopefully, this family of raw foodies will help encourage me to stay strong in my quest for internal peace and satisfaction.

So all I had to do was look down one more post..lol! Great remembrance on your grandmother. They always have so much to share from "their time".

Again, welcome to our little raw family.

Hi Tishi!

I am new, too - have been here about 2 weeks. Just started my third week at 100% raw. It has been easier than I imagined, and Raw Food Talk has helped immensely.

Everyone here is really supportive - I think you will feel right at home!

Welcome and lots of Love,

Cynthia

looking forward some ole' folk remedies. My M is from New England but I've spent a lot of time here so I consider myself southern.

Welcome!! I wish you the best of rawesome health!!

I wish I'd have had your experience with grandmotherly knowing. I've always wished I could identify and use wild herbs - that I could have apprenticed under such a woman.
