View Full Version : Quality personal blender?

Does anybody have any feedback on personal blenders? My hubby is thinking about getting one for work but I don't want to get a piece of junk that is only going to last a month. I would love something strong enough to blend in soaked dates and nuts as a smoothie base (this is his favorite). Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Heather

The only one I recommend is the Vita-Mix. You make an investment up front but the Rewards and Guarrentee are worth it.

I'm sorry, maybe I mis-identified what I'm looking for ... I HAVE a Vita-Mix at home and have had it for about 10 years and couldn't live without it. I'm wondering if there is such a thing as like a travel size or personal size or smaller than a Vita-Mix size blender that my hubby could easily use at work without having to store a regular size blender? He does have ACCESS to a kitchen but so do 500 other people so he can't just leave it in there? KWIM?

Thanks,
Heather

The Magic Bullet seems to get a lot of press. I have used one and it seemed to work fine.

Thanks all!

VFL - I was leaning toward the Tribest ... since you have one ... do you think it will handle soaked nuts and dates in a smoothie? Or is this an unrealistic expectation from a small machine. Your thoughts/opinions welcome.

Thanks,
Heather

Oh yeah. It will handle them. It comes with two blades. I also ordered (from Tribest) the taller tumbler. I LOVE it. I'm so glad I got one. I had gotten a Magic Bullet - hated that. THAT handled NOTHING well. I am very pleased with this. I ordered it from Alissa. I try to get things from her in appreciation of this free forum...

I have the Tribest too and I love it. It was the only blender I had for awhile before buying my BlendTec and it did everything I needed it to do.

I found it to be ALMOST as smooth as my BlendTec though the nuts and dates definitely need to be soaked first.

So far I've had mine for about 6 - 8 months and really can't say anything bad about it.

Thanks SO MUCH for the input. I hope he actually GETS it instead of just talking about it.

Oh the GETTING isn't really the problem ... the USING is the problem. If he really feels he will USE it, he will GET it. He might be prompted by his cholesterol test he got done today ... his total cholesterol is down from 307 to 229. Encouragement to continue on.

Thanks,
Heather

I have the Magic Bullet -- it is just okay -- convenient, but not great.

So, I do not really recommend the Magic Bullet -- I bought before I knew about the Tribest -- that will be my next one!

Yes, this was the general feeling I got from the reviews I read. Thanks for the feedback.

I have the Tribest also and it is wonderful. A very powerful machine for it's mini size!
