Hello everyone! I am a 63 year old women who is very interested in living the raw food life. I have always loved vegetables and fruits, so have no problem giving up meats and processed foods, etc. At least I don't think I'll have a problem. I already eat pretty raw now. I have a mostly fruit smoothie for breakfast; and usually salad for lunch; and for now, have been eating a cooked veg meal at dinner time. I like to snack on things like cucumbers, carrots, nuts, and fruits. I'm not real interested in making complicated raw recipes. I'm happier just eating simple plain foods...like salad and smoothies. I'm planning to join the 30 day challenge on Sept 1st. I am about 50 lbs overweight, and hope to lose the extra weight; but I'm mostly interested in "being healthy". I have Roe Gallo's book, "Perfect Body"; and Victoria Boutenko's book, "12 Steps to Raw Foods"; and Natalia Rose's book, "The Raw Food Detox Diet". And I love all of them. I have been reading and studying the "raw food lifestyle" for probably a year now. Course I'm sure I've still got lots to learn. I'm looking forward to posting on this forum.

Welcome. :) Sounds like you're doing great with raw. Keeping it simple is a good thing. Not easy for many, but the healthiest way.

Green smoothies are the best for weight loss and nutrition in general.

Hi windyhills. You and I are the same age and have both been learning about the value of eating raw for about the same time. It looks like you are already well on your way to being extremely healthy. All the best to you.:)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be ordering Alissa's book soon. I am looking forward to the 30 day challenge for Sept, and "talking" with all of you. And to whomever posted the link to watch the 84 year old woman exercise...Thanks! That was awesome! I have just forgotten who posted it. I walk 4 mile a day, and thought that was pretty good for 63! Thanks again.
