My stomach acids cannot tolerate 100% raw food, so do you still lose weight by doing partial raw food?

Thanks so much for any input from the "pros!"

I would say you could still lose weight. But I would also say it depends on WHAT non-raw foods you're eating too.

But yes, many of our members here are not 100% raw and have still gotten good results health and weight-wise.

Well, before I upped my raw consuption, I was 85% raw and to date have lost about 23 pounds in 1 1/2 months.
I agree, it depends on what non raw foods you eat!
It can be done, maybe as a transitional period, but so far I've had good results with eating 85% raw!

Good luck!

Dolly, I was thinking about that myself. I was thinking is it even worth it to be partial raw? I think the higher percentage of raw you eat, the better it will be for your health. These thoughts of doubt are normal for anyone. I still find myself questioning it, even today. I have been a vegan for quite a while, to the point I don't even think about it or question it, well not as much as I used to. But I find with the raw thing, I stop and question it a lot, but that is normal and in a way good. There is nothing wrong with wondering if being partial raw is ok or not, but in my opinion, partial raw is better than no raw at all.

You can lose weight doing almost anything...think of Atkins. Put your health first and the weight will naturally fall off. Everyone has this notion that if you're at your ideal weight then you're healthy. Not true. I know many slim people who are not healthy at all! I actually quit weighing myself..I go by how I feel and how my clothes fit. I don't imagine I'll find out what I weigh until my next check-up. Its very liberating to throw the d*&% scale out the window. I mean really, what does it matter what that number is anyway? I don't let it define me anymore. The more raw, the better!!!!

MOTTO: "Any raw is 100% better than it has been."

I don't know why your body is not tolerating raw well, however, just a couple of suggestions:

Listen to the body and watch how you combine. I am not a big combiner, however, I know that raw broccoli isn't as good to my body as I would like it to be, and sometimes, my salad cause issues, so I do watch it there.

Dolly if you check out www.rawreform.com you will see Angela's story. She is a member of this forum, and she lost a great deal of weight eating about 75% raw. She is now 100% raw and she progressed to that so naturally, listening to her body.

Hope that will help you!
