Can you eat them green or should you put them on a windowsill to ripen.
Thanks!

Sometimes that's the Color of an Heirloom Tomato. They come in Red, Orange, Green, Yellow and even Purple. Does the Tomato look Mature? Did you purchase it at a Market?

Yes, that is their color. I bought some today too and I plan to make a colorful salad tonight. I bought green, yellow, red, striped and purple.

If it's soft to the touch then it's ready to eat.
I love heirloom tomatoes, whenever they are available in my local store I get them they are divine! I love the look of the tiger tomatoes. Deep red with dark purple stripes.

No. Heirlooms come in several color varieties and green is one. Yellow ones, green ones --if its soft, its ripe and it will not change color to red.
SMELL it! that should do the trick. if it doesn't smell like a tomato i just don't care how soft it is, it's compost. i know, i'm spoiled rotten but i live in Tomato Land!
