My husband has one and since seeing the dentist yesterday to see about getting it pulled, his tooth or teeth have become worse and his face has become pretty swollen. Has anyone any ideas about getting the poison out without using antibiotics which upset his stomach? I did a search above and found nothing. At the moment he is using Swedish Bitters and an ice pack. Then he may try a concoction of salt and baking soda to draw out the poison. But I'd like to hear from a rawbie.
Thanks.
Sue.

I have a friend who recently was admitted to the hospital with a staph infection that had spread from an absessed tooth that was dangerously close to infecting his brain. I would not mess around with dental health problems. The time for natural health and teeth is BEFORE you get an infection...Many people used to die (and still do ) from tooth problems.
I might not go to the doctor for an illness, but for something mechanical like bones, I am grateful they exist.

And, for pain (while waiting for the appointment) swishing with apple cider vinegar has helped me in the past. I don't know why it works, haha, but I have been so grateful that it does!=)

Have you considered using zeolites? They are very effective at pulling out toxins in a very gentle way. Also, make sure he stays alkaline with veggie juices and tonic herbs because when your body is fighting off poisons it requires high amounts of minerals to buffer the acidic toxins.
I hope this helps!

Also, is there a decision he has been hesitating to make or something he has procrastinated? I have heard this is the spiritual reason for an abscessed tooth. You may or may not believe in that but just a thought in case you do . . .

I wouldn't mess with an abscessed tooth either. I don't know of a single natural remedy that will fix that. Also, having had them myself, i'm willing to bet my house that they do not originate from spiritual reasons or procrastination......

Thank you all so much. My husband tried the AC vinegar which Thick recommended and it didn't help. Then he tried the salt/baking soda and it did. Now he is going for Roman Michigan's suggestions re oil pulling and tomorrow he may check out the Golden Seal Root at the hfs. I am so glad I asked you all for your input. I'd never have thought of the oil pulling and I have done it many times to try to whiten my teeth! Thanks again. He does feel a bit better already. We are trying to find another car for me and I will be spending a fair amount of money. Do you think that could be aggravating his tooth? hehe:D No, I know it is very likely old age and neglect.

I know Tonya Zavasta has talked about healing an abscessed tooth. I googled it and this is what I found: http://rawfoodme.wordpress.com/2009/04/18/dry-fasting-benefits/

Thanks Raw to Live. This is another possible solution I wouldn't have thought of. How great of you to remind me. I even have 3 of her books and knew all about "nipping a cold in the bud" with dry fasting. I just love her books and am in the middle of "Quantum Eating". I read your link to my husband but he completely poo-poohed the information. But you know what? I intend to remember this and will definitely use this method for an oncoming cold in the days ahead or if I have problems with my teeth - or for many other things. Thanks so much for the reminder again.:D
Have a great weekend all you rawbies.
