Here's a recipe posted on goneraw. The author actually modified it from a recipe originally posted here but I couldn't find it. Anyone remember this one or make the crackers?? My question is do you soak the sun dried toms and cashews??

Here's the recipe and link to goneraw.com

Ingredients:
½ cup cashews (or pine nuts)
1 whole bell pepper
¼ cup sundried tomatoes
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
1 slice jalapeno (or 1/4 tsp of hot pepper flakes)
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon sea salt
juice from half a lemon

Preparation:
Blend all the ingredients until smooth.

Pour onto a Teflex sheet and use a spatula to score into squares. Dehydrate at 115 overnight, or at least 8 hours. Then flip over onto the mesh sheet, and dehydrate until the crackers are crispy, approx. another 6-8 hours.

If you like, you can sprinkle a little more sea salt on the top of the crackers.

I would definitely soak the sun-dried tomatoes and then squeeze out all the water you can before blending/processing. The cashews you don't have to as they are soft nuts anyway.

Yeah that would be my guess too. Just nice to know for sure before I buy the ingredients. Thanks for your post! :)

Hey! Anytime. I just know I have tried to process s-d-'maters NOT soaked and they are too sticky and tough. Let us know how the recipe turns out.

I wonder if this Raw Cheeze It's recipe (http://rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=39748&highlight=cheeze)is the one referred to? I make the O.P.'s version of the Cheeze It's frequently but it is time consuming because the nuts are soaked and dehydrated before hand. I usually add nutritional yeast and my own mix of taco spices.

It is time consuming because the nuts/seeds are soaked, then dehydrated before making the crackers. I recently tried it with soaked macadamias and soaked cashews instead. Totally different kind of delicious. Next time I'm going to try it without soaking to see what the difference is. Subbing soaked sundried tomatoes for the fresh tomato would be excellent, too.
