I am interested in starting a juice/water fast. I have had diarrhea every day since going raw 10 weeks ago so I am pretty sure I have intestinal inflammation that needs to be quieted (I have/had colitis and celiac so that is a problem area). However, I have juice/water fasted in the past and always felt really terrible while doing so. It is obvious to me I am very toxic as I have had lots of detox for the whole 10 weeks of going raw, and the idea of intensifying that is offputting. Also, I must work, long 10 hour shifts as a nurse, on my feet a lot. When I have fasted in the past, I have gotten migraines, weakness, dizziness, etc from day 1. The longest I lasted was 2 weeks, and I was not working so could rest. Granted, I was not raw at the time. Healthier SAD, no sugar or grains or starch, but still SAD. And doing caffeine. I am caffeine free now. Right now I am thinking I want to start right after my birthday on Sept 11 and go as long as I can, but I am worried about feeling well enough to work and care for my family. Any advice and encouragement would be welcome. Thanks!
PS forgot I did a MC for 6 weeks once, but I was not working at the time either so could rest as much as I wanted. It was tough!

I've done several juice fasts and a couple of master cleanses. The key for me to maintain energy level has always been HOW MUCH juice I'm consuming. I can maintain normal energy level if I drink enough juice.

How much juice? And if I add a vit C capsule to it, will it keep over a 10 hour shift?

Well, I typically drank around 2 quarts of juice. I preferred to drink one quart of veggie and 1 quart of like a sweet green (like apple/greens/lemon) juice. But this may be more for YOU if your work is very physically strenuous. Maybe you'll get some more advice from people who have fasted more than me.
For your digestive issues have you checked out the benefits of chia seeds? I've just been reading a lot about them recently and they are supposed to help people that are constipated OR have diarrhea. Might be worth a little research.

as youve probably seen before i always carry this link with me when fasting talk because hes my favorite expert :

on my earliest fast , and earlier in my raw diet i was where you are now
but now here 4 years raw and 20 fasts later i can go deep into fasts and remain stabilized , its just like getting in shape to run a marathon . fast after fast you get in better fasting shape
dont look at one fast as the cure all because unless you could do like a 50 day water fast ide doubt it'd cure any long term ailment . its more like look at fasts as alifetime habit and that between raw and fasts within a few years youll get where you want . you / we as a society have alot of built up crud to flush out so its a years long process
V8 type juices are big energy for me on juice fasts . and if i get near breaking i make an almond milk with dry dates and carob powder to at minimum keep it a liquid diet which is still imo helping flush out pollution . plus even if going on the almond milk your getting in better shape for the next fast
as us fasting bandits say ' happy trucking ' ;) on thee
old fasting highway
