May be moving to a small town area NW of Atlanta. We are going down the 3rd week of September to look around the area. Kind of excited. I know there could not be any place raw to eat, but to shop, so that I can eat at least high raw. Flying into Atlanta, it would be nice to find someplace to eat there, before going North. Any HELP would be appreciated.

Loving it live is a raw restaurant in Atlanta pretty close to the airport

Life Grocery is a really good grocery north of Atlanta to get raw supplies, prepared raw foods, and they have a cafe restaurant.

:) They want us to stay at a bed and breakfast, and as long as they are paying why not? But that won't work so great for me, unless I can make special arrangement ahead of time to bring my vitamix, etc. and havve some fridge space.
Garden Granny: From Cartersville to Calhoun, Rome, Summerville, any where around, close to Adairsville. How is gardening, where you are? What Zone is it?

You'll love the NW Georgia mountains. I used to work in Summerville (lots of farmers there, & they have a "trade day" with lots of homegrown veggies for sale cheap). Go see Berry College in Rome (beautiful campus). ... Gardening in this area is great. I think it's zone 7. You should check out Crabtree Farms, it's a wonderful organic garden in NW Georgia www.crabtreefarms.org

Hey, I'm in Calhoun. The most you'll find between Cartersville-Dalton is a restaurant with a salad bar. As others mentioned there are a couple places in the Atlanta area. My mom has had a garden for the past three years with much success. We moved here almost 4 years ago.

Blessings,
Heather

And those salad bars, make me shudder. I've spent a little thyme in the Knoxville area, and the best I could do was a little HFS full of mostly cosmetics, and Kroeger. Gardening and farmers Markets will have to be it. It is so great to be connected here. Thanx Alissa

I have my menus printed for both Lovinitlive and Life Grocery. Decided to stay in Kennesaw near Marietta close to Life Grocery's Cafe. Juice Bar, raw tacos, and RAW BREAD!!!!!, Ihave not had/made any for 1 1/2 years. I have to be able to eat well to have the energy to cover as much ground as possible in a week.
Heather: I'll be looking in Calhoun, I'd love to see your Mom's garden. Can we meet? It's the week of the 14th.
Thank you, so much

If your at a B&B, they may try to accomidate you some with the fresh produce in the am & whenever food is out. They may let you in the kitchen too. This could help their business to promote this as an option.

Try to get in contact with Sunshine Boatright... I don't remember her name on here, or if she still frequents but she does live in northwest georgia and runs raw potlucks every so often :).

I'm in Chattanooga, TN. Where in NW georgia are you? I might be really close to you, and I have a couple raw friends here as well...

I had to laugh out loud when I read your post. My mom's garden is just about done for the year and she has been less than diligent about weeding so it is ... eh hem ... quite the disaster. If you want to get together go ahead and e-mail me and we can see what we can work out. I will warn you that we are not a 100% raw household, but speak raw fluently. I can't believe you are coming to Calhoun, I can't wait to see what brings you here.

Blessings,
Heather

I am as raw as I can be right now. I just have to keep it s simple as possible, it is difficult for me to prepare two different diets all of the time. I know my hubby would/could eat at least high raw if I had the creative energy to keep him satisfied. We plan to at least look at some land in Calhoun. I'll e-mail you, thanks.

My Hubby does insist we go to Chatanooga too. He also wants to make sure I get connected with some raw foodies, asap. Thank you all for helping me find my way while I'm down there.

Lovinitlive in Atlanta was great. Hubby had raw lasagne and I had the sage, pecan/walnut burger, a little salty but so tasty, w/some pinenut cheese sauce, that looked just like mustard. A very African, but Southern vibe. I Loved it, they were warm and sweet, I can't wait to go back. Life grocery was very expensive for shopping. The raw garbanzo/herb hummus was great, but the flax bread tasted old or fermented. I didn't make it to Whole foods, but I brought my own supply of greens, avocados and mangos on the plane w/me. I would have been very hungry if I hadn't. I used my Cuisinart blender stick In a giant Tupperware tumbler for my daily GS, it worked great, I am glad I practiced w/it first. We'll be driving back down in a few weeks.

So Garden Granny: we'll be coming through Chatanooga, should we plan on stopping? We did not get there last trip.
