I just bought a Breville 'Ikon' Blender today so it should be coming in a few days. I chose this as I can't afford a $600+ blender and this one has great reviews all 5 star. I'm getting it from sears so if it sucks it'll go back. I like the fact it's glass instead of plastic. I know it's not a blend tec or a vita mix but I really needed a blender now not in a few months when money is better:)

Breville is a good brand for the lower end models.

For a $200+ blender it blends well and wash's great. Greens dissapear in this blender on the liquify setting, smoothie setting you can still see tiny flakes but no lumps. Easy to clean as the bottom is a bowl, really crazy blade, really well built.

I was at my Dad's this weekend and used his Breville - that I bought him trying to get more fruits and veggies into him! It chopped frozen strawberries like a charm. I would say it is a good blender. Not sure how it would work on kale and greens but if you have to you can put them in the food processor first. That is what I used to do when I just had my old Osterizer.

I put a whole bag of spinach in and it works great. I'm going to try tougher greens tomorrow but liquifying tomatoes chops up most of the seeds:)
