Has everyone experienced huge positives in their body's feel and appearance after transitioning to raw? I'm just wondering if all the people who transitioned to raw who experienced massive improvements were on the SAD in the before.
Even before I became interested in the raw diet I was already over half raw with no fast food or beef, chicken etc so I'm not sure if I'm going to drop loads of weight, get clearer skin let alone change my eye colour etc etc.
Or maybe a matter of a small percentage (sometimes I was pushing 100% raw) makes a big difference and you really need to go 100% raw to see the changes.

I had severe PTSD after my husband passed away. This has helped become less foggy, more alert. I refused to be medicated & I struggled for 2 yrs. My skin & hair is better. I've lost 2 sizes. I do want to lose wt but I feel it will come off as my emotions are better. If I get depressed, I pack it on. It's important for me to stay away from people/environments that bring me down. I truely do feel better....stay calmer, takes more to get me upset-which was how I use to be. I can tell a huge difference if I eat the SAD in my bowel movements. That's how I judge my diet...how I go. If it's easy..I'm doing good. If it's difficult, I've eaten something that's not good or productive for me.
So, I say- yes this has helped me tremendously inside & out.

margoss: glad you're going so well on it. :)

spicyfull: The pictures are very impressive yes, I wonder if these people ate a SAD in the before pictures and that's why there's such a big change. I just wonder whether such a massive change will occur with me. I am already well over 50% raw and eat organic as it is. I'll see soon enough I suppose.

I also really wonder whether I will be able to eat as much as I want of fruit and vegetables as I've heard some people say. Maybe not all raw people say that but I'm pretty sure I'll put on weight that way.

Lets Remember RAW is a LifeStyle Change, not the Newest diet. BUT when you make Changes in your Life you can reap Other Benifits. I don't want you to just think of it as a way to lose weight, I want you to desire ALL the RAWonderful things it will do for your Life and your BODY.

50% is half........So expect from 50 to 1% of whatever. This is YOUR Journey and you Travel as you Choose. There are NO RAW Police here. But in order to see Results, I would BITE the Bullet and Go Gun Ho and see what RAW is really about, trying 100%, checking My New Body from the Inside and seeing results on the Outside.

Do Stay with this Forum for any assistance you might need. Think about trying the 30 Day Challenge.......Have you read Alissa's Book, Living on Live Food? When I first purchased it.....I could not put it down until I read it all.

Keep Trying until you Succeed.......in whatever you do.

I was totally SAD before RAW I am about 95% raw. I have lost 46 lbs and had many medical issues cleaned up. I have not posted a before or after but can tell you I have lost my chins and wrinkles and eczema. I have been raw for about 7 months.
I am sure that if I went toatlly raw I would see more changes or changes happening faster but I am happy with were I am at.

To answer your question... YES!!!

I posted in the before/after section on my one year anniversary raw, but the picture does not do the changes I have experienced justice because I was already raw for 2 weeks when the before picture was taken, AND it was not my first time raw. I had been off and on raw for 3 years prior to the before pic and did a full year raw before that.

I know people who eat healthy and exercise, yet they don't have that special zing, they don't have that extra special magnetism that the raw people I know have. You can see it in the eyes.

I think you will find that all raw makes a difference. You have got to try it and see for yourself.

I don't consider it a diet either. It's the life we chose just like religious choices, choices of mates, style of clothes-home, how we raise our children to eat meat, hunt, etc. If someone asks me if I'm on a diet, I reply, "No, I've just chosen the lifestyle that my body wants. I eat mainly fresh uncooked produce. Isn't it amazing??!!" I've a beater to a different drum for many yrs so it really doesn't surprise them.
To me, a diet is wanting to lose wt. I want to improve my entire body inside & out. BTW, I saw someone I haven't seen in over 6 months this weekend. The first thing she said was, "wow, you've lost a lot of wt!! Did you want to lose this much, have you been trying, you look much younger, what diet are you on?!" No diet, just what was made for us!!

I saw someone I haven't seen in over 6 months this weekend. The first thing she said was, "wow, you've lost a lot of wt!!

I have lost 53 lbs now in almost 15 months. Most of it was lost in the first 6 months. Since then it has only been a pound or two a month. I saw a couple people I have not seen for the past 6 months. One kept repeating "You look good!" and the other asked, "Are you wasting away?". I have only lost about 10-12 lbs since the last time I saw them. Maybe they were remembering me the way I used to look 15 months ago. Or maybe they were seeing the other changes in my body. Even though I haven't lost that much weight lately, my body is still changing for the better. I don't know how else to explain that. Anybody know what I mean?

I had changes like crazy, but I really don't look all that different, just with less of a belly and clearer skin. I was able to stop taking ADHD medication after more than 10 years, which is the biggest thing that was a surprise. Oh, and the acne was gone. The expected results of crazy energy, my ulcer healing, digestive issues disappearing, stuff like that -- were quick.

I started with 100% and had BAD detox for a few days before the world just suddenly was bright and beautiful and easy... and the FREEDOM, oh the freedom! It's great to not be gassy or irritated at small stuff or to lay in bed in pain or to look in the mirror at my face even with makeup, and seeing only the blemishes.

Encouraging, I guess :)
I don't see it as a "diet" in the way that term is most often used. In fact I don't want to lose any fat from my face  We're all on diets though whatever that is (unless anorexic);)
Would just love to improve my skin though!!

My skin always improves this time of year. I think because it is peach season and I buy them by the case and eat my fill. You've heard the old saying, peaches and cream complexion. ;)

Alissa mentions in her book how there really is a night and day difference between high raw and 100% raw.

Aloha factoid! I think it's really different for all of us. It's important to remember a few points...

1. It depends on where you are (physically) when you start
2. How much Vibrant and Living foods yu consume
3. How much exercise are you willing to dedicate to your journey
4. and ... remember to HAVE FUN enjoying yr new LIFEstyle
5. Most important ... don't sweat the small stuff!

For me... I needed DRASTIC... and if I was going to be truthful ... I needed to respect myself enough to REALLY try... other wise I would find all kinds of excuses and simply quit like I've done every other DIE'it.

I wanted a LIFEstyle... so... I made drastic changes
100% RAW....
I followed Alissa's 30 day plan in her book - (this was a major plus for me b/c I didn't have to stress or think... just follow the plan).
I quit smoking almost 2 packs of cigaretts a day.
I quit drinking 1 1/2 bottles of Vodka a day
and I began an intense 2+ mile walk every day.

I decided I could at least give myself 30 days. If after 30 days I wanted to go back to the bottle and if I didnt' notice any major changes in my attitude or my body -- then ... okay -- I would just go back to my SAD wayz.

so... I began my journey - and I've never looked back. After 30 days I looked completely different. and for the first time in my life -- I was GLOWING....

some would say - well, sure an intense walking regime, eating healthier anyone would change...
but Factoid!! .. this was more than just losing weight!! ... I have fibromyalgia and the intense pain was barely noticeable. Back pain, neck pain, headaches disappeared! Restless leg syndrome - GONE!! Depression was gone, My outlook on life changed, my attitude and stress levels changed...

for me... I needed that 100% raw... going just high raw might not've worked for me... but like I say.. everyone's different...

so... let's just RAWk it out and have FUN!!!
