:p Sometimes the revelation that the truly simple foods can bring us the "happiness" or satisfaction that some folks only get with thier "gourmet" SAD foods... WOW.
Well, I have been playing with the couple of raw recipes that I have and have really enjoyed it. Today, however, I did not feel in the mood for a recipe or a salad or anything. Today I was in the mood for 'munching'. I raided the fridge this afternoon and chunked up scallions (weird that I really crave these sometimes), baby cucumbers, and celery. Then I shucked an ear of corn. I just sat and munched to my hearts content! So simple, yet so satisfying!
The best part... the CORN!!! OOOOH it was sooo sweet - better than candy! My dh got home from work and I was standing in the kitchen armed with my cob of corn (giggle). I said, "here, taste this". He did and he was SO shocked because it was so delicious! My ds even was impressed! I don't think I have EVER tasted cooked corn that was as wonderful as my raw treat!
I just love how these simple veggies made me feel so satisfied and full, yet not "heavy" like SAD foods used to!
Well, enough rambling for now! ;)
