Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Raw community.. glad I found this message board!

This is just my own personal story about my path to Raw :) I've been following what's known as the "south beach diet" for several years. Every day I eat at least 4.5 cups of veggies and several servings of fruits. But I also eat lots of cooked foods (including some of those veggies). It's a great way of eating, but I'm not satisfied; Even the SBD-allowed whole wheat pasta and bread weighs me down. I've noticed I feel lighter, happier, have more energy and more mental clarity when I eat raw foods more than SBD-allowable cooked foods. Sooooo, I've decided to take it a step further by researching everything in the "raw" community and eating more raw foods and less cooked foods. I'm really happy about this decision!...

My first goal is to make and drink a green smoothie every morning.

I'm going to just take some changes step by step and see how I can transform my life and health!

Welcome! May I suggest purchasing lissa's book and DVDs? She thoroughly explains the benefits of eating Raw and has over 300 recipes!

Thank you so much to the both of you for the welcome. Eating Raw seems to be the natural progression for me at this time in my life!

I'm so excited!... I went to the local farmers market today and bought kale, spinach, lemon, and berries to add to the fruits I already have at home. I should be good-to-go for the next several days of green smoothies! yay! :) I'm going to use my food processor for now until I get my new blender from amazon in a few days.

There's nothing like the feeling of doing something good for the body, mind & spirit. Thanks for sharing in that.

Have a wonderful day!
