What do you guys think of this juicer? I've been debating between Greenstar and Omega 2006. Decided pretty much on Omega only because I know myself the Greenstar may take too long and I wouldn't juice.

Then I saw this one. Opinions appreciated.

Thanks

I have the Green Star and the Jack Lalane. I use the Jack more often because it is So fast and I can clean it Fast.
With ALL My Juicers, I don't juice if I don't have the time to Clean them afterwards.

I also considered the Greenstar, but recently purchased the Omega 8600 -- it is amazing. Of course it makes great juices, but also juices wheatgrass, makes nut butters, and is fantastic for homogenizing Raw "ice cream"

Easy and quiet!!

I took my 20% off coupon to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and they ordered it from the website, so the discount was a big help.

Lots of great videos about it on YouTube

I purchased the Omega VRT330 juicer through amazon.com on 8/18 and received it on 8/21. The seller was Alive and Aware Natural Health (www.aliveandaware.com). The 2 containers that came with the juicer (one for the pulp and the other for the juice) came stuck together and one of the handles was broken. I sent an email to Alive and Aware and they said they would ship me replacements right away. In the meantime, I used the juicer for the first time tonight. I juiced carrots, kale, and apples. It worked like a charm and was very easy to clean. So far so good.....

What is the price on the Omega? It looks good. I have the 8003 and love it. But this one has a larger feed tube which is nice and I like the auto feed feature. I have to push stuff into my auger - quite hard sometimes - like carrots and beets and the harder stuff. What would mine do that this one doesn't I wonder?

It sells for ~$349.99 USD.

My 8003 was $279 CDN. I'm not sure the extra cost would be worth it based on the video. Love my Omega.

Hi,

I purchased mine thru Amazon.com but you can order direct at:

http://www.omegajuicers.com/store.php?productID=288

or check out

http://www.discountjuicers.com/omegavrt330.html

I literally just got it today, unboxed it, washed the components, assembled them and juiced! Initial thoughts:

1) it is extremely well made (exceeded my expectations)
2) Easy to operate
3) Produce easily feeds into the opening
4) The pulp is surprisingly dry
5) Disassembly and cleanup was pretty easy
6) Easily fits on my counter.

I used kale, apples, carrots, parsley, celery and broccoli and machine readily handled them. The juice was fabulous. Some beta-carotene staining was observed even after this initial run. However, unless your machine is made of SS it is inevitable.

So far I am happy. Is it worth the price as someone mentioned earlier, who can really say. I love the unit so far. I was going to buy a Norwalk Juicer but to be quite honest it scares me plus it is mega $$$$ (I am sure it worth every dollar). Then I considered the Super Angel but it seemed slower and harder to use. Admittedly, this assessment is based solely on video demos. I still might purchase one or both of them since one can never have enough Stainless Steel on one’s counter!

I will report back.

Joe

Hi,

Just a quick update. I have been using the juicer 2-4 times per day and I am still very satisfied with my purchase. The pulp is much drier than the high-speed ejector machines I have used in the past. Since I have no experience with other single-auger or a dual-auger unit I can't make any comparison. The auger itself is pretty impressive and heavy. It seems to handle everything I throw at it. I mainly juice carrots, apples, parsely, cucumber and sometimes kale. I do not juice wheatgrass at home so I could not say how it handles it.

There is very fine pulp in the juice but I like it that way. For someone using the Gerson approach, juice with no pulp, you would need to filter this juice.

One aspect I REALLY enjoy is the self-feeding food port. I've not had the need to use the plastic plunger at all. If you put a carrot in, it will literally gobble it up without any assistance from me.

One potential area of concern is the small silicone plug in the bottom of the auger housing that usually needs to be removed for cleaning. This could eventually wear out at some point but it should not be too expensive to replace. Another concern, like most other juicers below $500 is that the entire unit is plastic. I simply am not sure about chemical leaching from the materials. John from discountjuicers.com stated in a Youtube video that this is a non-issue. I remain unsure on this matter. I do not want to go to a Norwalk though a Super Angle would solve this issue. It just seems more laborious to use.

Regards,

Joe

Yeah, those omega juicers are great, but you wouldn't have made a mistake had you chosen to go with the Super Angel. It is an awesome machine. I saw how it works. The thing is all in stainless steel. Talk about BLING!

I ordered my omega vert (http://www.wheatgrasstips.com/%C3%B8-the-omega-vert-report-my-omega-vrt330-vertical-juicer-review-%C3%B8/), and can't wait to get it!

It seems to be a great juicer but if you get one make sure you get the HD because they have a problem with the strainer for those that juice a lot. I personally think it is a good juicer but would prefer the 8003,the 8005,the 8004 just because they are tried and true workhorses that are easy to clean and cost a heck of a lot less money.
