View Full Version : Low Fiber Fruits and Veggies??

I know, not the typical question
But with the Gastroparesis, I know that I'm supposed to stay away from high fiber, and certain other foods. I have tried adding other things back into my diet to help feel better, but it hasn't worked. I really want to go back to all raw, but I need to figure out what to eat.

What are the fruits and veggies that don't have a lot of fiber in them?

I have just read Natalia Rose's book about the "Quick Exit Foods" and also food combining. It can get a little confusing and overwhelming to be honest. Because some of the foods listed as being quick exit foods, I can't eat.
I'm concerned about two things, one, that I'm going to get so hungry because I don't know what I should be eating, and just not eat. Or two, that I will just give up with the raw food diet, and go back to eating whatever makes me feel better, and that would not be helping my body.

I really wish I had someone tell me what I could eat every day for every meal, and not be sick, or hurt really bad. But when I'm being faced with this, and not knowing what the best thing to eat is, I just want to throw my hands up.

Has anyone followed The Raw Detox Diet by Natalia Rose? If so, any hints or advice?

Maybe if I could just come up with a list of foods I can eat, and then I can just choose something off the "list."

I think I'm going to do a fast for the next day or two, and really search about what is ahead of me, and come up with a plan (I would be happy to hear anyone's plan for me) :D Plus, I need to detox some of this food I've eaten the past few days trying to follow doctor's orders, and it didn't help.

Thanks for any and all advice thrown my way!!!
Love,
Cathy

what about juicing more? :) i know you probably cant go 100% juice but juice has little to no fiber :)

and blending does blending make things easy to digest? :)

some low fiber stuff is ..
melons
grapes
pomegranates
avocados
blueberries
blackberries
citrus if you pop them out of their segments (the skin that holds them into a segment is fibrous but the insides aren't)
apples without the skin

id have to think about veggies ... as most are pretty fibrous ...
but you could juice your greens and get the benefits without the fiber :)

sprouts are low in fiber too

Thank you Jgunn, I have added your list of foods to my list.
As for sprouts, I have not been able to digest them, and I've tried several types. It makes me sad because I like the taste of them, and I know how healthy they are.
Thanks
Cathy

I'm going through the same thing. Tomorrow I was going to start a smoothie/juice fast but I don't know how it will be. I never know what is going to make me sick and sometimes it's not always the same twice.
Do you end up vomitting and get pain when you eat something that doesn't agree with you?

Since I just came off another thread about green food powder it seems appropriate to throw that out as an idea for you, too. One heaping tablespoon Vitamineral Green claims to provide 4.4 grams protein, 1.8 grams fiber, .8 grams fat, 150% RDA iron, 33% RDA calcium, 83% RDA B12, in addition to lots of other unspecified micro-nutritents. Alissa's Green Food Powder is the same Jameth Sheridan formula. I can drink it straight in water :p, but it may be an aquired taste. :)

Glad to see you are searching for raw answers. Hope you find some good ones.

Yes, I do have both symptoms, but the pain, bloating, and just hurting so bad in the stomach area is the worst. It makes me hurt all over. I've been really sick with symptoms since Thursday, so yesterday I did a water fast, and also drank water with lemon. Today I added in juice that I made which consisted of beet, carrot, celery, cucumber, and apple. I drank one big jar this morning, and one this late afternoon. I had plenty of water in between. Then I made some homemade Aloe water and blended the Aloe gel with fresh squeezed OJ. I took one big Aloe Leaf, cut off the bottom and top, took off all the prickles, and then cut the greens away from the gel. I put all the greens in a jar, and soaked them for 48 hours. I drank just the water. Then for the gel, I added 12 oz freshed squeezed OJ, then blended it in my Blend Tech to get the gel to blend with the juice. I've had a hard time keeping it down, but did. My stomach is really mad at me right now, and I am even running a fever this time with this flare up. Sometimes I run fevers when I'm having a lot of symptoms, not sure why??
I got real shaky, nausea, and pale as a ghost tonight, so I broke my fast with some melon. It ended up not staying around too long. I will try again in the morning, not sure what sounds good, maybe I will try a green smoothie.

As for staying raw, I don't know if I can go back to eating a regular standard diet. I tried for a few days last week, and my digestion system shut down, I could not go to the bathroom no matter what I took to make me go. When I am all raw, I do have a better chance of being able to go to the bathroom , sorry if that's TMI  But ones that suffer with Gastroparesis will understand.

I will keep chugging along, and keep asking ya'll questions to help me get down this road.
Thanks so much!!

dude the aloe about gags me too :D
i swear its not supposed to be ingested despite those whom say it is

your not alone , my stomachs been ailing for at least 5 years .
i just keep plugging along raw and juice fasting in belief that
eventually this mode shall create the proper internal enviroment
for me to heal cell by cell

you ever see those old vibrating waist belts in old movies where heavy people would put belt around belly and turn machine on so belt would start going back and forth making their gut like wobble in effort to lose weight .
well my gut gets bloated feeling and ide give like a million bucks to have one of them because i bet it'd help massage bloatedness outta gut

sometimes i use a vibrating sander without
sandpaper on it to vibrate gut and it helps :)
