I don't have any. I like to have something I can carry around with me. I think there are plenty of Authors here. I know RAWpriestest used to sell hers. I think RAWeater has his out.

Raw spirit - Matt monarch

All the ebooks from 'the garden diet dot com'

Raw secrets was ok ~ fred patenaude

I have about 20 other hard cover books, and I love them all, I recommend what you can get your hands on! Each one so far has something valuable and contains the enthusiasm and motivation to transform you.

I also like the e-books from the Garden Diet site (Storm and Jinjee's site). What I really like, aside from their ethos, is that the recipes are no-dehydrator recipes. I don't have one and for everyday food preparation, their recipes work really well.

RFT's own Mattye Lee has a really good e-book out--Frugal Raw (http://frugalrawnews.blogspot.com/).

RFT's own Revvell has a couple of books (one is a really good smoothie recipe book) that you can get as e-books on her site (http://www.revvellations.com/).

I've downloaded a couple of Russell James' books. His recipes are terrific.

I was going to mention Mattye Lee and Russel James books. Melissa Gilbert has a couple of great ones... here's a link to her blog:

I have one but I don't recommend it. It's for beginners... not for anyone who's been doing this awhile. I wrote it for my clients... to get them started. But here's a link (http://www.timelessspirit.com/coaching.html) to it anyway... *since you asked* LOL

I'm currently reading Kevin Gianni's 'High Raw' eBook on my iPod. It's free on his website. I also have the Kindle versions of Victoria Boutenko's '12 Steps to Raw Foods' (revised addition) and Susan Schenck's "Live Food Factor'. It took me a while to enjoy reading on my iPod Touch, but now I wouldn't be without it. I only wish Alissa's book had a Kindle addition (hint, hint).

I like Russell Jame's as well. You can always print them out, get plastic covers and spiral bind them. Less expensive than buying/shipping a book.

Thank you Raw Librarian for mentioning mine (http://bit.ly/81Pmc). :)

Seedy/ others: how did you find Susan Schenck's "Live Food Factor"?

I'm looking for a book that will give me the basics on the nutrition aspect of raw including some food chemistry for a layperson so I know what is best eaten together/ separately etc

Otherwise some recipe books with simple recipes that don't require lots of equipment like dehydrator etc

Any recommendations welcomed

Just went over to the other raw bk thread. Think I'll try Living Raw Food: Get the Glow with More Recipes from Pure Food and Wine.

Also am very interested whether the Russell James Thai ebook produces anything close to the taste of regular Thai...

I liked most of Live Food Factor, that is, I liked the parts that Susan wrote. Didn't care so much for Victoria Bidwell's chapters on Natural Hygiene. As a scientist, I have a lot of problems with some of Natural Hygiene's theories. Its interesting on a purely historical perspective, but if you expect me to believe that blood cells can mutate into bacteria, yeast and fungi because of diet - no. I spent too much money on my microbiology degree ;). But ignoring the woo-woo bits, its a good raw food 'bible' to have. For a simple raw uncookbook without a lot of equipment, I would recommend Raw Food Made Easy For 1 or 2 People by Jennifer Cornbleet.

I think Live Food Factor (http://bit.ly/3Ckf5S) is quite good. It's different than any other book I have. I did a review of what it contains on my blog (http://bit.ly/Cedxb).

Thanks for the inf all

Seedy: so you have a microbiology degree eh? I will remember that.. I am a big fan of checking benefits of things rigorously with evidence based information.:)

Revell: Thank-you for the links! I just got two free ebooks from the Jeevans site! I'm so excited!

Bethanie: I will add free into my search for raw ebooks.

Has anybody else read the Jeevan's books? If so what did you think? Let's have a book club discussion session teehee

Just went through this - 24pages

Good as total beginner introd - poss for those with experience and knowledge of SAD only.
That they listed temperature that qualifies food to be termed raw in Celsius as well as Fahrenheit was good. A small thing but makes a difference for those who use Celsius(think that's everybody outside America?).
List of foods that are non raw near the beginning was handy and useful. I didn't know all that was not raw :( I'm going to contact my frozen veggie company and see if they blanch their veggies before they package..
There are some funny picture boxes featuring gorillas and cows!
Quite a lot of references back to Jeevan services - advertising - however they seem to provide quite comprehensive resources so this is quite helpful.
