I recently posted about having lost 20% bone density in the last 4 years. As I am a 40 y.o. male, this was very concerning and strange. I have been doing a lot of research about this and recently found this book that I just checked out at my library and started reading. So far, I am very impressed and wanted to share it with others. It is called The Myth of Osteoporosis by Gillian Sanson.

Hi SpicyFull! I am still figuring out what I think. The book's approach (so far....I am only part way through) is that millions of women (the book's focus is on women, but I think it can apply to us men, too) are taught that they will mostly likely get fractures as they get older and then have a good chance of dying from those fractures. Those are 2 myths....

It is exciting to learn about this different perspective!

Walking is the No.l thing we can do to combat Osteoporosis besides eating Dark, Green, Leafly Vegetables. Also Weight Bearing Exercise is a Plus. Its a Bone disease not a Gender disease but I guess more Women seem to have it than Men. They also now make a Pill for it, which you take once a Month .
