What retail stores carry a spirooli? I called sur la table and they carry a stainless stell heavy spiral slicer--but it's more expensive.
Do you have a spirooli and are you happy with it? Where'd you get it?

I got mine new off ebay for a good price and free shipping but I know alot of people that have gotten them from Amazon...might want to check this site and see if Alissa sells them..I am not sure since I rarely venture out of the forum :)
Hi Thick ~ I bought mine back when I was low-carbing on QVC (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K7702.desc.Fuller-Kitchen-Solutions-Manual-Vegetable-Curler-Slicer). They still carry it for the best/lowest price I've seen anywhere. Other sites tend to be twice the price I paid.
Yes, I'm very happy with it. I use it exclusively to make veggie pasta.. You can click on the 'video' tab above the picture to see a demo. The lady in the video had a hard time and I can tell you it's because she simply was using too big of a potato - it wasn't the machine's fault. I've never had a bit of trouble with mine like she did in the beginning of the video.
I've ordered 3 of these, for myself and gifts (shhh - don't tell my DIL, she hasn't received hers yet!) *Ü*

Thank you so much. I want to go and physically buy it, though--right now!=) Sur La Table has one that is heavy and expensive (57). I bought one that is similar to the one Alissa is selling, but it doesnt have enough room to cut looooong noodles--just fine angel hair short ones--which is good, but time consuming and I havent bothered in months.
So anyone have one that is resatuarant prep quality? Is the spirooli high quailty?
I don't know if they're all identical (I'm talking about the white plastic models) - but the one I bought from QVC, I'm very happy with. I think for a plastic gadget, it is high quality.
I'm a real gadget seeker, love shopping in all the housewares departments, etc. - but I've never seen one of these locally... I hope you find one though! *Ü*

Thank you Deb, I ordered from QVC. Cheaper than bag of nuts=)>
I did see one that was a stainless steel professional kitchen quality one that I wanted, but..it was $500.. I'd have to be a bag of nuts to buy that one right now=)
Whooh ~ $500 . . . You could post that on margoss's new thread titled, "equipment". A fantasty thread asking what you'd buy if $$ wasn't an i$$ue :)
I hope you enjoy it - my husband just loves pasta made with this slicer, more than wheat pasta which he always avoided.
When I slice up the pasta (with zucchini or yellow crookneck squash - those are all I've tried), I place a cotton towel on a tray, put the processed pasta on it and let it air dry for at least 6 hours. I learned that tip from Rawvolution.
Post back how you like it after you use it okay? *Ü*

OMG I just received my brand new TwistedChips Tornado Potato upgrade for Spirooli Slicer in the mail today and I was so excited to try it out. I made 25cm Tornado Potato, and it was SOOOOO COOOOOOOOL! I was so impressed with how the potato came out! Just thought I'd share with everyone :)

Hi DebB,
Does your husband eat the veggie noodles raw or do you cook them for him? AND if he eats them raw how do you get them to soften or become al dente like real pasta?
Thanks!
