View Full Version : Flu or detox ...?

I know, that question isn't really phrased quite right since the flu is a form of detox. Sorry ... guess the braincells aren't working really great this morning.

This is kind of weird ... it started a couple of days ago, but seems a bit worse now. It seems like anything I eat (SAD or raw) does a REALLY good job in cleansing out my system. (We're talking having to go to the restroom -- BM -- practically every five minutes or so, until there's finally nothing left! Not to be graphic or gross, but it gets down to where it's basically just the watery waste in there. Sorry for too much info ...)

Today I feel achy (body aches) and run down and blah ... similar to the flu.

I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday ... no appetite at all.

Does this sound like more detox? I'd been 100% for about ten days, then slipped a bit and have had a bit of SAD mixed in. (Not a lot, tho', but unfortunately not always the healthiest choices for SAD.) :( I don't believe it's anything with the food, because it's pretty much happening with anything I eat, not just one thing in particular. So I'm not sure if it's honestly some type of a bug, or I'm going thru more detox. (All I know is it's a bad day for me to have to stay home from work.) :(

Any thoughts you guys have would be appreciated! :)

I have had the weirdest dizzy feelings the last 2 days too. I'm not having to go to bathroom but I feel sooooo yukky. Ragweed is blooming here so when this first started I thought it was that. My head is spinning and I feel really queasy. I have been able to eat my salads and slaws and veggies so I suppose this is detox. How long does it last? I have never been sick like this.
I havn't even strted to try to get off my 2 cps. coffee yet. One thing at a time!! Help!!!

Try not to eat if you are not hungry. Drink lots of water to flush out the yuckies & also fresh juices. Get rest, fresh air & sunshine.

Carolyn, I had the same exact thing happen to me on Monday (I was one week raw then except for the controversial trader joes raw almond butter). So I bet you it was the raw diet. Glad to know I wasn't the only one.

Just my two cents here, I know the flu has been going around here this Summer, a couple people have called off work etc. I can't remember the last Summer that I knew so many people coming down with it. Kinda of strange really, once think you get past May or so, you think you are safe until the following flu season.

Either way, I wish you well. :)

Thanks so much, everyone, for all the replies! I don't have a lot of raw support locally at this point, so it's nice to come on here and talk with others who are going thru some of the same things. :)

It looks like the answer to my question for myself, is detox. It hadn't really felt a lot like the flu, which was what was a bit odd. But I've had a yeast infection start to kick in now, too, so it looks like I'm just going thru a lot of fun detox right now ... which is a good thing, I know, even if it is a bit uncomfortable. But eventually I'll work thru all this and feel terrific! :D
