Has anyone successfully treated this without the use of antibiotics?

I would love to hear how you did it. I did a banana search and didn't find any posts on this (except a puppy UTI).

Thanks in advance! *Ü*

cranberries have a great reputation for this

ive used them and they worked within like 2 days

others i know had sucsess also , besides the 100's of people on line ive seen say works

use raw cranberries if possible over pasturized juice

and i guess frozen whole cranberries second best

but ive cleared them with frozen cranberry juice concentrate

Thank you Michigan Roman ~ I do have frozen whole cranberries, but I'm not sure what to do with them?

Do I simply juice them, or..? Thanks for your post! *Ü*

dont think it matters how one consumes them

and its the certain type acid in them that destroys any bacteria in the u.t.

theyve worked for me several times when ive thought ide a uti

How did you consume them Roman? I've never used them before for a bladder infection, so I really don't know. Thanks so much! *Ü*

If it doesn't matter how they're consumed - I'm wondering if I could put them in my green smoothie...

its like any way you can make the very bitter berries taste good you do ,
to me itd be like theyd ruin a smoothie

i remember one time just crushing a bunch up then putting them in cold ice water a while then straining pulp out for a simple cranberry laced water drink

Yes - I was surprised I didn't find any old threads.

Thank you MI Roman for your help with this.

I didn't know what to expect, but I went ahead and put some frozen whole c'berries in my green smoothie. I probably put about 1/2-3/4 cup. I can't even tell they're in there - but it does have a nice twang - ha!

Maybe I'll juice later on and add some more then too. *Ü*

I'm drinking 1 quart of wheat grass juice, water from 1 young Thai coconut and 1/2 bag of frozen cranberries. I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the taste as I really thought this would not be drinkable, but it is. It was such a beautiful red-pink color until I added the w.grass juice - ha. *Ü*

I really did think I'd have to gag it down, but I was willing to do it... It's almost like the cranberries and wheat grass juice cancel each other's flavor out. Good thing!

I'll drink another one after dinner.*Ü*

I just had a UTI, fresh work best, but frozen cranberries are better than the juice...& I also did about ten cloves of garlic (Russian penacillin) & it wiped it out in ONE day!
(when you use garlic (medicinally or otherwise) you crush it & leave it 15 minutes, & it GREATLY multiplies the healing benefits. Throw it in a lettuce wrap, cold soup, pate or dip. It really does knock out anything!
(I'm stockin' up when swine flu comes to my town!)

hope you feel better real soon!
Oh, yea, drink TONS of water!

...Oh, & they've learned the cranberries work
by keeping the bacteria from being able to stick to the urethra walls...

I've found the most effective way to get rid of UTIs in 1 day is Uva Ursi capsules. If you take 2 caps immediately when feel the first symptoms that's usually all you need. Otherwise may take another dose or so. This is way better than cranberries, cran caps or anything else and without having to do anything additional or spend much money as even the cheapest ones work.

Thank you Anastazia ~ I hadn't thought of garlic! Just last week, I was watching a YouTube video and the lady cut the clove in 3 pieces and then downed it with water. Do you think that would be okay?

Thank you Dimond for the recommendation or Uva Ursa capsules. Can you advise where to buy these? I checked your site and didn't see them. They sound like something I'd like to order! *Ü*

You can get uva ursi in any (real) health store or on-line. It's only around $3-4. You can keep it in the fridge to last a long time.

I've read a little on this, but please investigate it yourself. I don't know if it fits for a raw diet either. Xylitol and D Mannose are supposed to inhibit a bacterias ability to attach to the mucosal tissue in the bladder (asmentioned by Anastazia as to how the cranberries work). I think it is supposed to bind to and disable their little attachement points or hyphae. It may even cause a bacteria to release it's hold, I can't recall all the details. I think it would be worth your checking out further. There are xylitol sprays for the throat used for the same reason, I think.

I think GrapeFruit Seed Extract is great for a UTI. It can be purchased at any HFS. During this period you MUST drink plenty of Water. Drinking Water helps to keep those UGLY Bugs A Movin' on out of your System.

I have had to take antibiotics as a last resource.

Thank you michigan roman for looking that up and finding it at mountain rose herbs - it looks like a wonderful on-line source for it!

I'll check my local health food store Dimond and see if they carry it, I sure appreciate the recommendation of this herb.

Thank you streetsurfter for your recommendations. I checked iHerb and found both. I'd never heard of D Mannose, so I appreciate your help.

Thank you also spicyfull for suggesting grapefruit seed extract for treating this. I had some in my cupboard and just took several drops in water.

I so appreciate everyone's help with this! I've always gone the antibiotic route, but this time I wanted to try to take care of it without them if I could. Thank you! *Ü*

So far so good! I bought the Uva Ursi yesterday at our local HFS and have been taking it ever since.

I've got the antib's sitting here as I wanted to have them as a back up, but so far I haven't needed them.

Thanks again for ALL your help! I really appreciate everyone's willingness to help out! *Ü*

I use to make a cranberry cocktail when I got UTI.

Fresh or Frozen Cranberries Juiced
Lemon Juiced
Green Apple Juiced
(I liked it tart and sour, you could use a different type of apple if you dont like it so sour and tart)

Just drank that as much as I could for a day and the UTI would be gone.

If you are ok with sweetner

Try rasberry, cranberry, raw agave and vanilla. It is so lovely. (if all frozen, it makes a lovely icecream if you blend with your food processor)

I sometime, use the cranberry mix them with my apple crisk desert and dehydrate together.

Enjoy!
