Hm. Earlier this week I felt that it would be okay to only eat breakfast, lunch and snacks raw ... but it is not! Talk about back-sliding. Not good. So ... nothing but 100% raw would be good enough for me!
What I have to eat today:
Some RP brownie balls; Date and coconut balls.
Mange tout and cucumbers cut into bite size pieces.
Marinated baby corn.
Salad: wild rocket, avo, marinated mushrooms.
Fruit: bananas and apples.

I'm so looking forward to summer fruits ... like mangoes and watermelons! :) (It is now early spring in RSA.)

what day is it now? I dunno.

I felt really shitty all day today. I pray this is detox and that it's good for me. I was so weak today. My mom came into town to visit and she and my brother and I drove out to the coast...and i slept in the car the entire way there, and once i got there i slept all day even when they went down to the beach, and i'm about to sleep some more. Also my Hydradenitis suppurativa is acting up with a vengeance, much worse than it has been in the past year and I can't walk comfortably (for anyone who doesn't know about HS, think chronic, big, painful pus filled boils ewww. Had them on my thighs since i was 13, but it's rare that its this bad. just another PCOS side effect!). I also just seemed on the verge of tears all day.

But at least the food was good:
I ate tons of almonds, bananas, watermelon, dandelion, curry, zucchini, salad, etc. Sleepy as i was, i still had a big appetite.

I blogged this one to keep this area pure! Lol. Tomorrow will be the best ever... and I'll be prepared when hunger strikes!

Greeting Gorgeousness!

Seems many of you are detoxing.... I am not as yet... bit of a slacker am I???

Yesterday had a sandwich... had made some bread from spouted buckwheat and various other ingredients that sounded good (and the website I pulled it from pictured it looking quite luscious).. however, mine turned out BAD...it was edible, but not very flavorful and I felt like I had really bad breath afterwards that I simply couldn't shake.... that was a bit disappointing. I also didn't like running the dehydrator for so long (and this was really only overnight...).... I'll have to give this some thought because I really don't want to run the air but the dehydrator heated up the place (my space is very very very small.)

I also had made some fabulous avocado salad... in alissa's book it's the chutney, but I add some items and quantities and make it into a salad... I also add a bit of agave to the dressing.... scrumptious!

oh... and let's not forget the fabulous fudgy balls................. they, too, are alissa's recipe and truly, truly, a delish treat guaranteed to smack that monkey on the back right in the face!

I think one of the most difficult things you can do is listen to yourself when all the others around you are saying things that make you uncomfortable, sad, unsupportive, etc. Try to remain true to yourself.... honoring the wonder that you truly are. And know that their unsupportive comments really aren't about you but are about them. They might be feeling very uncomfortable watching you grow, making good choices.... and becoming defensive because their own choices aren't so great.... it's tough when those we love are shifting, changing, growing..... and we're stuck.

I'm not sure what I'm going to have today.... but definitely a wrap of some sort because I have an overabundance of green leafy lusciousness in my fridge (I went a bit nuts this week looking at everything and scooping it all up!)

and even though I've been vegan/vegetarian for a longggggggg time and used to buying produce I still find that I have to shift the way in which I purchase things in terms of how much I can actually eat before it goes bad... ; P

It's wonderful reading that you all are finding that you aren't as hungry, or don't want to eat what you'd planned on and honor that... I struggle with those same sorts of things....

oh... and since I hadn't yet, I decided I would peak at the numbers on the scale and take tape measure in hand.... ; ) you give me strength.

Hello=)

Today is my Mom's birthday. So there will be a restaurant--I can handle that. There will be a cake of some kind, but I'm going to make it and she's getting a chocolate raw cheesecake if I can get everything else done. She's expressed interest in raw, has lymphoma in remission and has even asked me to be her personal raw chef and bring her food and shell pay for it etc--but I am just not that organized yet. Unless she wants me to bring over some watermelon..maybe I'll give her the cheesecake and as a part of her present offer to make (sigh) raw food for her...I just feel like, hey you're a grownup--make your own food! haha..well, it is hard in the beginning to find things you like..and I am the one with the dehydrator, vitamix etc..

Okay here's my plan--
chocolate ice cream (frozen bananas, walnuts, honey, vanilla, cocoa, salt)
green smoothie(mixed greens banana)
since i'm out of cucumbers haha, not sure what I'm having the rest of today--butit will be raw=)!

Thanks for all your help=)

kidkid....bummer you're feeling so crappy. I on purpose try to take naps when I am just starting out raw again.

sorry haven't posted for a few days, still hanging in there. I have been working and canning peaches and green beans. Not sure if I'll ever get to eat them, but hubby and son will...

so excited to get a shipment from Matt Monarch, and my chia seeds, and the kelp noodles, hemp seed...so yummy. and then got my nutsonline order yesterday, so I am really good to go!

Still working on some guacamole and raw corn chips I made. I finished a banana/blueberry smoothie this morning that was left over from yesterday for breakfast. Some almonds..munching on kelp flakes...whatever.

I don't think I'm going to detox like last time, yeah!

Lunch was salad and a couple of bananas, piece of pear.
Just got back from dance class: grapes, 3 small corn on the cobs & 2 large bananas.
Was starving, will probs not eat till tomorrow now, maybe just green salad as want to get more detox going.
More upbeat than yesterday, was in a dark well then, these things pass.

I had the day off today and have not had any real meals per se, just lots of snacking really, but all 100% raw. I've been stealing crackers off the dehydrator all day, these are the yummiest I've made so far. And it wasn't a real recipe, just thrown together from items on hand. I love that!
Oh and I was out with a friend and we came across a little organic juice bar and I tried a shot of wheatgrass juice for the very first time ever! I was pretty impressed becuase I have to tell you it smelled like fresh mown grass, but tasted much sweeter than I anticipated. So I would defintely have it again.
Today:
B: Green smoothie (banana, watermelon, beet greens, maca, coconut oil)
S: Snacks galore!
D: Black sesame asian salad
E: banana/papaya pie

Those of you that are feeling blah today, hang in there!

I'm feeling like crap today too. I think it's detox. I did my normal 75 min walk/hike at the park today, but on the big hill (the one that everyone around here calls "The Mother") my lungs were not happy at all, nor were my legs. I felt week during the whole walk, and then later when I took a shower I got so dizzy and had to lie down for a long time afterwards. Then I went out shopping for a bit, came back and now I feel even worse. Achy in every joint in my body, even my hands and feet, headache, sleepy, exhausted, weak. Mood wise I'm doing fairly good though. I was down 2.8 lbs in 6 days at my Weight Watchers weigh in, which is good for me.

Today I ate:

B - Green Smoothie - kale, dandelion, 2 bananas, a pear

L - Vegetable Juice - kale, dandelion, spinach, carrot, beat, cucumber, sprouts, and celery

D - Polenta with Mushroom Ragout - It looked like a pile of dog poo but was good though! I swear I'm eating more gourmet now than I ded before raw!

D - Indian-spiced cashews, halvah, and 2 pieces chocolate-covered fruit

Oh, is it possible that corn makes raw cheeses more cheesy tasting? By accident I discovered this, when making polenta and found it tastes like an extra cheesy alfredo sauce that I made a few days ago, and the only different ingredients were 2 cups corn and a little onion. I don't use nutritional yeast so anything else that gives a cheesy taste is great for me. I think I'll try some corn in my nacho cheese recipe and see if it has the same effect.

Hi Everybody,

I had a cookout with friends tonight and brought kale chips to snack on as well as watermelon soup for dinner. Everyone was very supportive but I admit that I felt left out a few times since I wasn't eating the same thing. I stuck to the plan though and am happy about that!

Here was my day today:

- Coconut water
- Smoothie with banana, cherries, Vitamineral greens, coconut oil
- Watermelon soup for lunch
- 2 Flax crackers
- Kale chips
- Watermelon soup for dinner

Hi everyone, I felt GOOD today, and good thing because it was a very busy day, and I have a few hours before I will be able to get to bed. We are leaving for family Bible camp in the early morning. I am pretty much packed but need to get some pizza crusts in the dehydrator and finish cleaning the kitchen and living room.
B: Green smoothie of kale, nectarines, kiwi, almonds, and coconut oil
L: Lara bar while running errands. Couple of prunes at work.
S: Zucchini noodles with marinara sauce, large salad with vinnaigrette
Snack: a little banana leather and some more raw strawberry frozen yogurt.

Everyone, have a great week and I'll "see" you when I get back!
