I am so excited about this! Maybe you already know about this, but I didn't and so I thought I'd pass it on. I found a place in Vancouver where you can get really hard to find, no make that impossible to find raw products around these parts (such as Irish moss, kelp noodles, really raw nuts, cocoa butter). They have a website where you can order and then go pick up your order. Or they will ship it.
Today I placed an order and the owner called me personally to introduce himself and said to email him anytime with questions, etc... He said they just have been in business a few months and today just got the keys to a new location near False Creek where they plan to eventually have a store, a raw cafe and juice bar and hold workshops.
Anyways, not sure how many western Canadians are on here, but here's the link: http://www.organiclives.org/

Awesome. I just found a place in Calgary as well. I just went down there today but they were closed for some emergency. I am going in tomorrow so will report back for the rest of the Albertans!!! But will check into your place too. MUch better than trying to order from the US. Customs, duty and all.

Yeah they are great! Best prices around. Probably even worth it for out of towners to order from them too!

He said they just picked up the key to the new place yesterday, and it sounds like they have to renovate, etc... So I'm thinking a few months? But its pretty exciting for those of us who have been paying all the extra shipping and US exchange, etc...

OK - I went after work today. It was awesome. They were a health food/supplement store and are slowly losing the supplements and adding raw food items!!! Yahoo.
They had Lucuma powder which I have been wanting but not wanting to order, irish moss, cheap goji berries, $31 cocoa butter the same size as the David Wolfe product I bought at my HFS for $55:eek::eek: I was dying to make something that needed it. He is working with David Wolfe for his upcoming Calgary event and has gotten lots of information about suppliers from him. Says his cocoa butter is from the same place! They buy stuff in bulk and package them in plastic containers. Like 100g of goji berries for $4.17 ish. The last package I bought was 227g for $19. The irish moss was $6.77.
His wife is Alissa Cohen certified and teaches tons of classes. They are about 5 minutes from where I work:eek: I can't believe I haven't checked them out before. They also have a huge raw food library. You can borrow books for 2 weeks for $5. I got Everyday Raw by Matthew Kenney to start.
So do I have your attention Calgarians!!!!! The address is 22 Midlake Blvd. T2X 2X7 and the phone # is 403-254-5991. That's just east of McLeod Trail in the deep south. The best access is from Bannister Road though not Midlake. Its across Bannister from Tim's. Its in a plaza with Subway, DKEnvy Hair Salon. Don't go to the wrong side of Midlake Blvd where Value Village is. From McLeod Trail go east on Midlake, then left on Bannister and immediate right in to the strip mall. Its called Journey of Health. They are closed weekends. They have a website and do raw potlucks too in addition to classes.
