Hi All, I have a question for folks who had something like post nasal drip, stuffy nose, mucus in the the throat etc and who cured or lessened that after going raw. Most of the foods 'they' say cause mucus are wheat, dairy and such, which you wouldn't find on a raw vegan diet. So I am just wondering if these issues have cleared up after going raw.

Thanks!

yes, the mucus was gone completely...i eat basically greens like brocolis and spinaches...lettuce and other veggies,a lot of bananas and apples, nothing else and i run two times a week...no more runny nose, mucus in the throat, my lungs are clean...but the detox was heavy,really...hope it helps...

A neti pot along with eating a Raw-based diet will help too.

Can you be more explicit with the detox details? You mean heavy as in expectorating the mucus? :D

Actually, afore raw because those are the first things I gave up when going veggie. Wheat and dairy. People don't realize how tough those are on the immune system and tend to blame "hay fever season" or "pollen" or, whatever. Yuppers! Are you raw and still having issues? if so, may be something else. If not, yuh, try that.

No, see that's just it. I have some cooked holdouts and I think they are the problem. I think you're right. Even though it's a little wheat and dairy ("little" by comparison to what and how much I ate before incorporating more raw), I think these are the culprits. Honestly, I never looked at the research for this before and I am thinking wheat is just not healthy.

It seems for many of us, it's not. I see my friends eating it and also, how often they are dealing with mucus issues even though they eat a LOT of raw... they've still got wheat (no dairy) in their food programs. It's pretty insidious too. Things you'd never expect it to be in, it's in.

A while after I began eating mostly raw I went through a period of runny nose, skin breakouts, some intestinal and stomach discomfort and fatigue.
Those were detox symptoms of course and they all started going away within a few short weeks for me... and all was better than ever from there.
Hope that helps...
